If you don't want to play, that's you decision. I'm pretty happy with the spot for New Treeland - a flower forest on a hill overlooking taiga. Smurfington and FJ were talking about building a medieval Nordic style town, so that should be pretty good. We're miles (literally) away from any potential griefers, so all we need to do now is be careful about who we allow to tp over.
With spawn/home teleports, there's pretty much no downside to being this far out. I'm more than happy to pay for people to move their teleports if needed.

It is the complete abandonment of the Rapture Project that got to me enough to leave.  That was the plan of what we were going to construct.  I could accept the movement from Treemurdered if we were going to start work on Rapture, but completely abandoning the project after a location that is insanely similar to Rapture's is found?  And immediately after being forced to abandon a place I had spent my whole spring break working on due to griefers?  I'm leaving.

We haven't abandoned it. Rapture's on hold for a short while as far as I'm concerned. We'll look for a suitable spot closer to where we are now in the near future. Plus, it won't get griefed.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

I sincerely doubt that a griefer would find Rapture, considering it is 4 km out in an unspecified direction, with them having to cross the spawn continent, a sea, another continent, and another sea to get to it.  Anyone wanting a cheap thrill of griefing would more likely find Treemurdered and do what they want there.

Besides, Rapture getting griefed would only make it more accurate.

What is the current server? I kind of want to see how it's going.

My plan is to establish a base, get some armor and potions, gather a metric shitton of quartz, and then go find another water temple wherever, then start building rapture. We're currently 555,000 by 250,000 blocks from spawn, we'll be fine in terms of griefing, since we're literally a continent away.

I've build a map-wall and a furnace room next to my house. I have a lot of pointless shit coming down the pipe this week (essay, exams, etc.) but after those are finished I'll work on expanding the taiga-area town center.

I'm going to experiment with Viking-style turf/wood houses.

Hay bales might look pretty good, as an analogue for thatch.

Some more work has been done on the town center. We now have a warehouse. Chests have yet to be labeled, that's someone else's job. There is also an ender chest in the warehouse. North of town is relatively flat, so I think it best to put some farms there.

Where the heck is the town center? I thought it was that point on the peak with all the stuff, marked "New Treeland"

It's in the taiga north of the river.

New Treeland is my stuff. I'll make a path/road/thingy down to the town so people can find their way.

Hell, we could get everywhere by minecart.

[EDIT: OK, I appreciate that we now have a rail line, but it looks...weird, and the track gets in the way of where a road would continue. I can start a rail station later...]
