The thread probably does need to be locked, though. Between the personal attacks being slung around at the moment and the strongly biased OP who is doing absolutely nothing to curtail inappropriate discussion, even if the subject was worth talking about to any meaningful degree, it's pretty obvious that even if there was something more noteworthy than tabloid level nonsense going on, this isn't really the thread to be talking about it in.

Totally with you, Something Evil.  I don't condone any personal attacks of any kind or whatever the hell doxxing is, but Quinn's actions have discredited her whole platform and the people defending her from more than the nastiness need a reality check.  I hope the "news" sites in question and the gaming media in general get their act together.

Everyone on the internet has put themselves out in public view at one time or another, but to trade on that and make it your business requires a lot of self control and self awareness, which Quinn does not have.  There are many young women who have made successful careers in just this field, and Quinn is no where near the most successful among them.  Felicia Day is extremely open about feminine sexuality, in the Guild and on Vaginal Fantasy bookclub, and she is far more popular and respected than Quinn.  Quinn has been playing everyone, and they bought it.  I can't believe the censorship and media-silence that has followed such an unimportant dev around... probably because these sites bought her story too and they don't wanna admit to being gullible.

Also, doxxing is releasing otherwise-not-made-public personal information of someone. Phone number, real name, address etc, generally as a way to facilitate violence or instill an atmosphere of personal threat.

When my posting past is brought up as me being sympathetic to this random author who I explicitly stated I didn't know of back when I played the game originally, then yeah, this topic has shown that the anti-zoe misogynism has come to a point where they'll create  enemies out of people who disagree. Unsustainable. Because of blatant misrepresentation and a drive to make this into a bigger issue than it is.

Or it just shows a total lack of reading comprehension. Either way, the anti-zoe side of this is nothing more than misogyny and strawmen. This is an unsustainable topic.

It has happened to me before twice where someone just dug through my post history.

Though please don't paint an entire "side" as being "wrong" because even if you got morons defending that side, you often got intelligent people who are on that side for different reasons then "misogyny and strawman".
