Does anyone here do hard labor that would probably be needed for this? Like building and stuff?

I currently am a construction worker.

Whoa whoa whoa. I thought the idea was to create an island fortress where Bay Watchers could go in the event of societal collapse/nuclear armageddon/zombie apocalypse/just to get away from the world. Not to create some gimmicky micronation that hosts webspace.

I've got about $4,000 in ready funds at the moment.
I don’t think they would have been discussing international law if that was the point. If you want a Bay 12 retreat that is much more manageable.
Which is what I'm annoyed about. My understanding was that the idea was to create a retreat. I have no interest in dealing with the crap that comes with being in a micronation.

We're not doing a micronation. I think that was just theorizing.

I'm game for raising the 90000 for that place.

566.25 acres for $90000
This place? Sounds pretty good. We'd get surface and mineral rights, too.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

People actually interested, please post your location.
Northern Ireland, assuming you mean the location you're living currently.
I could chip in maybe £200-300, as to be realistic I wouldn't really get to make use of it, living so far away. But I wouldn't mind having some hold in it, if it does go ahead.

It's not an island, but it'd probably be a hell of a lot easier to get to and build on. And it's near a creek, so that means water! \o/

Over 2000 miles away and in a different country than I am. Also, 50 degrees Fareinheit...during summer Also, census data is a couple years old, but looks like as of three years ago the population of the nearest town was 424.

If you guys want to do that, more power to you. It does sound like we have a lot of Canadians in the thread. But personally, this both more expensive and way farther away than I was imagining. And colder. And more remote.

~1300 miles from Alberta to Elk Lake, Ontario.

~2100 miles Los Angeles to Elk Lake, Ontario.
