Louis continues attending to his staff, no longer making eye contact. Eventually, he stops and stares directly into Mitsuru's eyes "How the fuck do you know I'm compelled to lie? I could have been truthful the whole damn time except for when I told you I liked to lie. Then it ain't strictly lying.

Tell ya what, I swear I'll be truthful for once, though vague as hell, gotta keep it amusing for myself after all - some restrictions or compulsions can free a person. I'd rather be stuck lying compulsively than what would be happenin' if I chose not to. Think the thing it's like is called a guess, or geese, or geis, or something along those lines."

Shiro clicks. The chains explode, putting a lot of pressure on Fuschia's arms. Again, sand particles fly everywhere. The atmosphere gets sandy and hard to see with so many sand particles flying. Taking advantage of the cloudy atmosphere, Shiro erects pillars behind Fuschia's backs. At this point, only way was to make her move around more.

A smile. Not the usual one of wryness, but rather, one with a more mephistophelian quality to it. Not necessarily sinister, but still possessing a rather copious payload of slyness.

You've been born into shit people would and do cap others for, the world is your damned oyster and on top of that, you've got some kind of weird-ass magic and pretty sharp mind backing it all up. What you aim for, when you are already at where other sons of bitches spend their whole lives trying to get to?"

"I aim to excel. Like all these people who would cap each other, I strive for higher. I could just as easily sit on my laurels, but that would never suit me.

"So that's it then? Getting better for the sake of being better? Sounds pretty damn empty to me, but that's just 'cause it ain't exactly my cup of tea. I'd rather have something more concrete to aim for, 'course I'm the least qualified person here to judge, I haven't found shit to live for or die for yet. The way I see it, everyone needs one of each, something so that bleeding out in the gutter at least has some damned solace in it, but also something to make you want to keep your fucking heart beatin'."

Mitsuru chuckles. However, there seems to be a slightly sad quality to it.
"For the sake of getting better indeed."

Louis curtly nods, quickly examining Mitsuru whilst doing so. It could have just been misinterpretation on his part, or lying on her part, but a quick cold read couldn't hurt. What was her current posture? What was she looking at, if anything? What was her expression? What about the positioning and movement of her hands? Had anything deviated from the norm, whatever norm was established in only the half a week or so?

Louis raises an eyebrow inquisitively as he attempts to follow Mitsuru's gaze "Well, is it that empty? Is there some sort of shit that happened that made you decide to do that, which I won't hear of until a few months into the damn term? Or are you just screwin' with me?"
