He takes his upper suit off. It reveals his body, and Tom sees that there are bandages on his left arm, with 5 little circles on his left shoulder, overlapping to form a drawing of a geometrical 'flower'.
"Ignore the bandages." Shiro says.
"If you train hard enough, you learn how to control your mind. How to control your body. It's like being taught how to control the beta blockers that slow your heart rate. It makes you calm, makes you more sharp. This has done through constant training, for years. That's why my hand is still. My hand is not metallic. It's just a hand of an alchemist. It represent all the hard work I had to go through." Shiro says with seriousness in his voice.
"I had a friend, a priest. He was a good guy. True man of faith. We talked about many things. He had the same hand. He was a talented alchemist. He wanted to save the world, for greater good. He was a good guy. One day, he gave me this." Shiro says, pointing to his left shoulder at his geometrical flower.
"It's the 'flower of wisdom'. It is something that makes ME the geometrical circle itself in another way. This tattoo will never go away. It will stay. When I got this, all I felt was pain, agony, it's like all the burdens of the world was concentrated to this small tattoo. I chose to have this, and he gave it to me. I endured the pain for God knows how long, and when I woke up, my hand, it was stiff, and cold. I never seen the priest since, and his church that held orphans burnt down to crisp one day, only thing left something that representing him and what he stood for,a silver cross." Shiro looks dark and depressed.
