The card disappears in a bright flash of light. No wait, it was launched into the air, it flies up above tom and then bursts turning into glitter and... Rope? Yes, a golden rope. As the two things land on Tom, first the rope then the glitter, he would find himself bound to that spot. And that he doesn't feel an pain he did previously.
