Amy decides she needs to actually try to make friends and walks up to them

"Uhh ... hi"

"What's up? By the way, do either of you know if this:" he makes a sharp gestures to his books "is just bullshit, or if it's actually true?"

"I'm Amy, thought I should get to know some people"

[Empiricist]

"Well fuck me, and here I was thinking some guy was off their meds... Right, the name's Skyler, I'm not sure who she is though" he points to Mitsuru.
"Funnily enough, I was thinking the same thing, along with wondering where the hell I am."

Mitsuru looks up from her book.
"Hm?"

"How do you know I'm not crazy?"

"This place is supposed to be a school for people with strange abilities, but I'm worried it may just be a dumping ground for unexplainable kids, I know my parents sent me here as soon as they heard of this place"

"I went here to gain mastery over my powers. On my own suggestion."

"Hello random girl reading a book, this is Amy" Louis performs a grandiose sweeping gesture to Amy "Amy, this is a random girl reading a book" He mirrors that gesture now towards Mitsuru
"Because what sort of nutjob would ask that question? You seem normal enough to me... Hmm... so that's it huh? People with strange abilities, well, that explains why I'm here then..."

"Calling me an idiot isn't going to help you meet people....."

"Well you came to a place that may as well be a cage, although a gilded one, of your on volition, but I must admit I am impressed, not many people learn Welsh"

"Prophecy? You know those random assholes going on the media, saying shit like they can predict the markets or the world's going to fucking end like the last hundred damn times someone's predicted it wrong? Well, I'm the real deal. And it's shit. It's like tripping balls and seeing the future of a rock or patch of dirt in god-knows-where."
Lowering his voice and ending his short rant, he then notes more calmly:
"It does work sometimes. Like that folding chair over here. I know the next person who tries to attack me is going to be screwed over by that chair."

"Well, unless you can tell me where else I can master my own powers, I believe this is a suitable institute. It is only a cage if you view it as one." Mitsuru casually sips a cup of tea that nobody noticed there before.
