What I learned from Quill18: One way roads. ONE WAY ROADS ALL THE THINGS!

EDIT: And here's the not fun part. I want to play Cities, so I can't be arsed to play any other games, but it won't come out until whenever, and since they didn't include a pre-download, I can't play it as soon as it's out.

i think it is just a ~2gb download and its ~4gb on the harddrive in the end... so compared to all the 10-20gb stuff that is "normal" nowadays cities is "tiny".

Addendum from Arumba: Gotta go all the way around with one ways. Only adding them to the entrance of the area will break traffic worse than it was already.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Quill18 also busted a myth that apparently was going on.
Trees do NOT help against noise pollution whatsoever.

Then again, we don't know if this would be true with the version we will be getting soon. Or if any future updates will manage this.

A good way to design a city (in reality and hopefully in game (seeing some of the ai for traffic for this has me worried)) is to have high volume alternating oneways going n/s or e/w while the alternating direction goes plain two lane.

In reality those towns time their lights so that if you are on one of the one ways you should be able to go through with out stopping.

From what I've seen the traffic AI needs work.  I would LOVE if I could do custom roads.  Set speeds, turn lanes, and other such things.  Like making a 4 lane road that has only one lane going in one direction or making a two lane one direction with a top speed of 100.

How is this game?
I was going to post something like "From the video's I've seen I'm going to say at the minimum this is the game that Sim Cities should have been." but I'm to drunk and I want to go into detail and I've had to fix so many typos to go any further.

What Shooer said.
It's a bit early to tell considering it has not quite been released yet.
But it does look very promising.

This would explain the downtown of my city... just... ALL of the one way streets, everywhere.

So far I'm not very impressed with the optimization. The game runs like shit on my gaming laptop even after I've turned the settings down to the point where the game looks ugly.   :-\

It won't be downloaded for like 5 hours or so. This makes me sad.

Streamers seemed to have no issue with the optimization...perhaps your drivers or something are out of date?
