The main problem I'm having in this is getting my services to cover everywhere. Especially when I use one-way roads.
Don't pay too much attention to the coverage colors. The services still rely on agents just like simcity so even places not visually 'covered' will get firetrucks and such.

Keep in mind the reverse is true as well. A poorly built road network could make something say, 20 yards from the firehouse essentially out of the effective range of the fire trucks.

I may have forgot to put a place for U-Turns down Main Street Ave in my city.

I raised my residential taxes to 15% because people wanted more living space. Figured it would keep demand in check, instead everybody left before I realized what was happening.  :( Good thing I had just saved.
Thank god you're not my mayor.

After playing a few hours of this...

Thank god I'm not my mayor. I would kill myself after killing myself.

Just a heads up, this workshop mod changes the final map unlock milestone to allow every tile in the map instead of however many the milestones normally add up to. The only thing is a city that large probably will probably cause performance issues for certain systems, but whatever.

Anyway, anyone got a good Dam placement for the first map? The lake doesn't have enough pressure to actually generate any electricity, and the spot west of the lake in the river past the merge has the pressure, but the damn will spill a huge amount of water into the penninsula below where the city starts off at.

This game is already a hundred times better than SimCity 2013 thanks to the persistent agents (and the sheer number of them); watching literally thousands of people walk from their homes to their workplaces, or stack up and load into my ultra-cramped metro lines, or get stuck in kilometer-long traffic jams caused by crippling death and sickness because everyone's dead and the hearses are stuck in the jam too.

It's a really solid foundation for CO to build upon with future content updates, and I hope they do so. I've played about 7 hours so far and I can easily see myself dumping another twenty in, but I'd love to have even more mechanics to wrangle with.

Looking at over 400 people lining up at a tiny bus station makes me unreasonably amused.

I REALLY suck at city planning. I have a traffic jam consisting solely of garbage trucks stretching from one end of the city to the other because of an intersection that's stuck with a traffic jam consisting solely of buses.

I like this so far, though I wish there were bigger roads available at the game start. My initial design is absolutely jammed with cargo traffic due to having insufficient roads. I guess I'll try upgrading them, though I presume that will destroy many buildings. One thing that had been nice would be the automatic street placement for zones to make them viable, like in some other citybuilder that was shitty otherwise.

All in all, I'd say this is better than the new SimCity and the lackluster Cities XXXXXXXXXXL, but could do with some further polishing. The focus on traffic is quite fascinating, though and not done before to this level.

DF doesn't mold players into its image - DF merely selects those who were always ready for DF.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

I played a bit yesterday. So far, I like it a lot.

I really like the traffic system, and the simulation in general. Getting the traffic flowing well is really hard, but it's also really satisfying once you get it right. One way roads are your friends, use them.

I am loving this game even though I am having one hell of a time with traffic management.

Yeah, I really like how fluidly the traffic changes to what you're doing.

It's not perfect but it's pretty damn good.
