I do hope that whatever is currently targeting Marcus has the assistance of divination. Since a precognition versus precognition battle would be, rather unconventional, to say the least.

Effectively the standards that occur when precognition is involved on both sides (so effectively modern magical warfare) can and likely often do result in bloodless wars. What would happen is that both sides would start off by repeatedly using their precognition, gathering scenario data. Then they commence trend analysis in conjunction with deployment of military resources. At that point, the objective is to steer the prophecy towards a highly likely and acceptable victory. At that point, the opponent can either surrender without a single bullet fired or life lost, or fight until the bitter end, desperately trying to change the predicted outcome as it begins to play out.

In this specific case, it would allow people to have all the joy of killing off characters, unloading lethal magic, wrenching out a victory, or futilely trying to stave off defeat without any of the usual consequences.

The point of chestplates are to direct the blade AWAY from your chest by sliding them outwards. Boobplates make that completely useless by guiding the enemy's blade into your chest. Plus if you fall the boobplate can break your sternum.
