How so? Your choices are: Not-Nazis, Aliums, and a well thought-out and reasonable nation that happens to be fighting against the protagonists for an important and tragic reason other Aliums. It's a giant robot game, it'll have generic enemies coming out of the wazoo.

Plenty of choices to make, not to mention some backstories.

Why not both? Mixing super and real robots is fine. And given the level of abstraction that forum games usually undergo, the size of the robots shouldn't matter too much. So you can go with either size of mech, or combine the two or whatever. It shouldn't matter too much in the grand scheme of things.

The problem with letting both sizes run around is size; I can't exactly let 20m tall Gundams fight alongside 3m tall IS suits, because obviously one is going to pack a lot more punch than the other.

Pick a size and stick with it then. You're the GM after all. And honestly the size is mostly fluff. It shouldn't really affect the game too much. People are going to keep on forgetting how large they are after all.

Okay, I've thought of three:

• Old fashioned mechs, Gundam style
• 10m tall organic mechs, War on Geminar style
• 3m tall advanced combat suits, IS style
