After a bit of thinking, [INSERT NAME HERE] (probably Robinson Kruzoe) would agree, but ask for a bit of time to inform his family of his decision.

"Alright," you say. "I'll do it. I'll need some time to tell my family about it though."

Once back at home you inform your family of your decision. They give you their permission, and even give you a few coins just in case you need them on the trip. They wish you good luck, and hope for you to return safely.

Days later, you are finally on the road. The wagon moves very sluggishly, and you take the time to map out the surroundings and speak with Mateo, who sits just at your side while the farmer (whose name you still do not know) drives the wagon. So far you've only been down the road about a mile, but you've mapped it all out very nicely. You've been here before, but you are excited to know that you will finally be seeing things you haven't seen before. You look up from your drawing for a moment and take another look back at the man following your wagon from a distance. He seems to have some kind of a weapon strapped to his side, and he is wearing a black cloak with a hood. You've asked Mateo what he thinks about the man and he seems to think that he's some kind of robber.

Grab a cudgel of some kind, just in case. Try to assure ourselves that we have an advantage of numbers. Don't act first, but wait to counterattack.

You grab a hammer laying next to you, that your father has given you for protection. You lock eyes with the stranger, and he picks up the pace. You have the farmer speed up the wagon, but the stranger turns to a dead sprint and draws his sword on the move.

"Stop the wagon!" you call out to the farmer, and jump off with Mateo at your side, wielding a knife. The bandit slows in front of you, and begins a wild overhead swing at you. You barely manage to get out of the way, and his sword digs into the earth. You take the opportunity to target his knees, and bash his right knee with the hammer. The leg buckles, and the bandit screams as he falls to the ground, losing grip on his sword.

"Please, no!" the bandit cries as Mateo positions the knife at his throat. Mateo looks to you to make a decision.

Clock the bandit in the head with the hammer hard enough to knock him out but not hard enough to kill him, then tie him up with his cloak. Take his sword off him and search him.

You knock the bandit out cold with a light swing from your hammer. You rip apart his cloak, and tie him up with it. It most likely won't hold too well, but it's better than nothing. On his person he was carrying an iron scimitar, 3 gold coins, and a canteen filled with water. As you do this, the old farmer walks around to you. You lock eyes with him for the first time. Great white beard, long white hair, scar on his face. You guess that he's had his fair share of fights before.

"Take what he's got and leave him. Either he dies out here, like he deserves, or he makes it back to a village unarmed and no longer a threat." the old man orders.

"No, if he's a criminal he should be brought to justice. Let's put him in the wagon and find out what he really is when he wakes up. Does he look like a robber to you, Mateo?"

Look more closely at the bandit. Does he look like a robber?

Nah, let's leave him on the side of the road, it will be enough justice.

Or we could murder him, for the reputation.

"I haven't exactly seen very many robbers, Sam." he replies.

You've never seen one in your life, so you really wouldn't know what a robber looks like. The man continues to struggle in his temporary bindings, slightly ripping them.

Never mind, let's just leave him behind and keep going. Ask the farmer if there's any way we can move a little faster in case the bandit had friends with him.

"Never mind, we should just get going. Let's leave him here." you say. The farmer nods, and gets back into the driving position on the wagon, and you sit next to Sam on the side. You watch as the robber slowly begins to fade into the distance, not a word being said between Mateo and yourself. You realize that it's quite possible that the man had company, and ask the farmer if he could speed it up. He agrees, and you continue down the road. It isn't long before you hear a gallop in the distance.

Let's pull the wagon over to the side of the road and wait to see what the sound is. Is it coming from ahead of us or behind us?

You yell for the farmer to pull the wagon over to the side of the road. He grumbles, but continues to do it anyway. Mateo seems to have heard the same thing you did, and he hops off and draws his knife. You follow him, wielding your new iron scimitar. "Mateo, do you think-?" you begin to say, but then the farmer grabs you by the shoulder and hushes you.

"Listen." he whispers, and points down the road from which you came. The light galloping noise of a single horse and grown to a higher intensity, and you can now hear at least three horses at full speed coming your way. If it's the bandit's friends, you're in for a fight.
