Is it a good idea for me to become a tutor or teacher in the Cair to corrupt students to our cause? It should be a relatively easy way to recruit mages. Training some of our future enemies could be good or bad, since I'd presumably be better at fighting my former students, even if there are more of them.

I would highly appreciate if all those coming with me would bold actions along the line of "Go along with Maekar and [your place in the plan here]" without any secondary actions (ie, avoid something along the lines of "and train along the way"). While it may be tempting to work just a bit more to improve your stats, I have asked Terenos and he informed me that if no one did a secondary action we may be able to get to the meeting point faster - and so have more time to plan an ambush.

If you can quietly determine who in the Cair would be most susceptible to our fell influence and recruit them quietly, I don't see why you couldn't. Darius is a Cair scholar, after all, and your potential students would be learning magic anyway, with or without you being the one to teach them. That said, I'm not sure if it's better or worse than anything else you could be doing for the good of the Cabal, like sharpening your own abilities or training other Cabalists. There are presumably already "recruitment officers" in the Cair, if Oventhrall is anything to go by.

Noted.

Take all 49 soldiers and all the Cabalists to the meeting point outside the city. Put everyone in their assigned positions. As a reminder:
  • I will go to the actual meeting alone with Muirgen and Milos. They are to act as bodyguards and avoid talking; should battle be joined, their job will be to protect less martially inclined Cabalists and wait until reinforcements arrive. While they are fighting, I will target enemy officers with spells.
  • Everyone else is to hang back, setting up for an ambush if we arrive first or simply staying a little behind and out of sight if we do not. Two soldiers will remain visible to the mercenaries but won't go to the meeting; they will pretend to be the rest of my escort and will be tasked with informing the others in case fighting starts and they do not realize it.
  • Gwyn will be given command of the soldiers and will be tasked with leading the charge if the fighting starts.
  • Gerl and Oswald will go with the main body of troops and will be tasked with providing magical support during the battle ahead. William has already described his intentions; Gerl should make it his most important duty to heal wounded Cabalists.

Divide the party into small groups and stagger their departure by a few minutes each to try and avoid attention, but overall priority should be given to speed so as to arrive at the meeting point before the mercenaries.

I'm putting this up here as a memorial for all who come after before Shoot can edit that.

It was magnificently handled however they have let a group of pirates slip away with news of their betrayal and nefarious deeds. What side effects could this have? Only time will tell!

Eh, they were all crewmembers. They couldn't 've possibly gotten a clear view of us. We'll just have to avoid using that particular ploy again.
