Was the death of the relaxed guy directly tied to the death of the others?
Did at least one person bet on their life?

Were all of them about to die horribly, but this one guy had a pistol and one bullet and he shot himself, and then the others died horrible deaths?

what do you mean by "bet on their life"? did they bet money that they would survive? no.
Were all of them about to die horribly, but this one guy had a pistol and one bullet and he shot himself, and then the others died horrible deaths?
...kinda. Do you want to get it right, or should I just explain it now?

Eh, I just know another one like this. In the one I've heard, they're on a submarine that can't come up for air, and one guy shoots himself, then the others suffocate. They were also having a card game for their last bullet.

Is this the one?

Yes.
They're in a combat submarine downed by nazi destroyers in the middle of the Atlantic. They find one last bullet, but don't have any matches, so they play a game of cards where the grand prize is the ability to kill yourself. I think it's very Poe.

Your turn.

Traffic on a major roadway has ground almost to a halt because of a single insect.

Did the insect distract a driver causing a crash?

Does it have anything to do with the butterfly effect? (no pun intended!)

Is the insect still alive?

Did anyone see the insect or know about its relevance to the traffic jam?

Is this 'traffic' made up of humans and human related transportation?

Is this 'major roadway' also used by humans?
