Did the man die of dehydration?

Is the fact that the match is broken related to the man's death?

Was the man killed?
No, very yes, no.

Is this going to have a twist like the man in the trench with the pebble?

Was a hot air balloon involved in the man's death?

Is the match a metaphor for the man's soul?

Did his death involve falling from a great height?

Is the man's body damaged in any way?

Is there anything other than the man's body and the match present on the scene?

Nah, it's all pretty straight up.

Is the match a metaphor for the man's soul?

Did his death involve falling from a great height?

Is the man's body damaged in any way?

...You know this one, don't you? Cheetah.

Yes, no, yes, yes, no.

...ah, I think I know this one, too, but nothing else is on the scene anymore?  Odd.  Where is the hot air balloon now?

I actually didn't know. It just seemed like the intuitive answer, given the spirit of the riddles. After all, if the match was broken and this was directly related to the man's death, and he's also in the desert, this leaves but a few reasonable prospects, and the hot air balloon was simply the most reasonable one.

Did the man attempt to light the fire in his hot air balloon and break the match?

Did he overextend himself somehow after this and fall out of the hot air balloon?

Or did he fall on the match and break it?

Was it the wind that blew him out of the balloon?

Or was it his own clumsiness that did him in?

That's hardly a binary question, now, don't you think?

Negative on all counts.

Are all these riddles about someone dying?
I know a few that are not, but most of the ones I remember are pretty morbid. One of them gave me a nightmare after I guessed. It's like, this creeping realization that this is more messed up than you thought.
I remember three that are in no way related to a human dying.

Was the man injured in a hot air balloon crash?

Did the man fall out of a hot air balloon?

Was the man actually in the hot air balloon?

Is the balloon still intact?

I think I remember my father using this riddle.

The man and his friends where in a hot air balloon, however it was beginning to lose altitude over the desert and didn't want to be stranded, so they began tossing out anything unnecessary, it wasn't enough, so they drew matches, one broken, he got the broken one and had to jump out.
Is that correct?

Not fair! You knew this one. If you're so clever, you can tell the next one if you want to, of course.
