really old mud from the 1980s and 1990s run out of Stanford called 'Revenge of the End of the Line'. Was a super hardcore PK mud. I used to play in the computer lab in college and then at home after words. It was super frustrating due to the pkilling. I didn't know anyone in it. Plus the wizards would cheat. I remember one time they were pkilling somewhere. A guy switched to a wizard and kicked me out of the game. When this happens you lose all your equipment. They were assholes, but it had alot of depth. Death there hurt. you lose hours of gains.

Page is still up, but the game is long gone.

Tribes 2 is here, along with a required master server patch.

Are you sure thats legal, doesn't really seem right.

EDIT: It also appears to be far from dead.

It doesn't appear to be possible to change my votes, by which I mean use the third vote which I did not use when I initially voted.

Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be a way to edit the poll to allow that, but I will make sure there is next time.

Also, I will lock the voting sometime late tomorrow and from there we can organise games and another poll for more games to be played

Avpx installed and run on my original AVP Gold install appears to break the sound (it's making a weird noise repeatedly as soon as it starts, and continuing on the menus, and the sounds that are supposed to be happening aren't).

My semi-original AVP Gold appears to run without it with some issues (doesn't handle widescreen correctl -, has a black bar on the right, and I'm not sure if an original AvP Gold exe would even run on windows 8, but mine which I compiled myself with modifications to the source code does to fix bugs in how the game was setting stuff up with DirectX, etc).

Anyways, I doubt original AvP Gold is compatible with AvP Classic 2000 MP anyways.

A note on AVP Classic 2000:

The game is 75% off for the next 16 hours, which makes it meager 0,75€.
Alas, the sale must be over, because it's showing as full price here.

HOWEVER: this version does not support multi-player
They didn't support that originally but have since added it, apparently (It's listed on the steam store page and on wikipedia).

I'm downloading down, as I bought it few months ago and I'll import it to Steam library because Steam version does support multy - but I don't know if this will do the trick. EDIT: eh, if only it would be that simple...  :-\

To be honest though, AVP is 3€ on Steam (and on that note, so is GG's version), so even if this doesn't work it's not such a big money to enjoy some good old fashioned FPS fun.
Oh, I see. The version of Classic 2000 on GG lacks MP but the version on Steam doesn't? So GG hasn't kept theirs up to date then.
Aside: In the states, it appears to be $4.99 currently.

Well, Empires and Eternal Silence are free. Plus A New Zero and that other one by the same guy, of course. (I don't recall if A New Zero was limited to 4 players or if you could have multiple people per team...)

(How the frak did Tribes 2 get 9 votes? Isn't there a new Tribes game which is supposed to be free and even better? Aside: I tried it, didn't have the reflexes and reaction time necessary to snipe people while passing each other at 200 MPH.)

(I gave up on trying to get mechwarrior 4 because the process to download it was so fucked up and kept breaking while I was trying to do it.)

Another game that I will add for the second vote will be Serious sam : BFE. The Competetive is completely empty and co op has around about 8 players at the moment

Right we have decided on the top 2. Those are

A New Zero
Tribes 2

However we need to choose between Mechwarrior and Sub Rosa as they have drawn 3rd

So I am finishing the poll and creating a new one to decide the tie breaker

Here's hoping A New Zero wins :D. I think it would be a load of fun with a bunch of people playing.

Also, it is worth mentioning if people vote for both then 1 will be deducted from each every time this occurs.

Relatively speaking, this still results in the same thing.

It is, I just wanted to make sure that both votes of a person wouldn't count if they took advantage of being unable to delete the poll.

Is SubRosa really dead? Last time I played a few months ago it hauled absolute ass but there were a few sparsely populated servers.
