After that charming introduction you all were booted into what looks to be a recreation room with something for everyone in it. There's a window with a list of items and prices next to it.

Pistol:  1d8 damage. One token.
Brass knuckles: Adds stun on crit Strength attack. One token.
Knife:  Adds +2 to strength attacks. One token.
Booster pack:  Adds +2 speed. One token.
Leather clothes:  Plus one DR against physical attacks. One token. Looks pretty fucking cool.

Everyone starts with one token.

Sven looks around, taking in his surroundings and his teammates. He doesn't say anything yet.

That briefing had been mentally taxing, N goes to sit on the nearest couch. 
These people had proven that his former gods could be slain and humanity could truly control the planet.  The idea tempted him a little more than was probably healthy.  He did his best to remain impassive, but couldn't help but grin like a mad fool.  This war would probably last till the end of time.  But he had a front row seat and he wouldn't give that up for anything.

Z looks around, taking in his surroundings and observing his teammates.

Vorin glides over to the window, moving disturbingly quietly for his bulk and armour, blink-saves the list of goods, and ((sticks a token in the slot and hits pistol?))

A pistol comes out through the window. Amazing!

Vorin grasps the pistol, taking it over to a table and kneeling beside it to begin inspecting it minutely for imperfections.

"So... Which weapon to pick? I suppose a gun would be best, but then I might be defenceless during close combat..."
Z takes another glance around the room.
"What do you think, hmm?"

Advanti stands firm, lightning arcing up his arm.

"Guns are for pussies."

"Oh?"
Z looks at Advanti, clearly amused.
"Whatever makes you say that?"

Vorin does not even glance up to respond to Z, continuing to focus on the weapon before him.
A knife will avail you little if you are already incapable of fighting in close combat, and if you are not so incapable, it is a much smaller improvement to your close combat ability than a gun is to your ranged capabilities.
