Roll to Wild West
« on: August 16, 2014, 11:29:01 pm »

1865. The Confederate States failed to secede from the United States, and with it's failure, slavery was abolished. The war weakened America, leaving the West and South in savagery.

Welcome to Roll to Wild West, the RtD where you can adventure around Texas, Northern Mexico, and Louisiana. What you do is up to you, be it searching for gold, bounty hunting, being a bandit, you name it!

The game will begin in a small town in Texas. I will allow five people in, and you take it from there.

EDIT: I should mention three things. One, the damage type will be Chunky Salsa, which means you have to aim at a body part to damage it. You will be able to die from a shot to the head, bleeding out, and such. Also, the locations you go to will be mostly fictional. Combat will be done by two rolls of d6s.

Example of combat: Django and some other unnamed person duel. Django aims at his rival's leg, while the other guy aims at his head. Django rolls a 5, and the other guy a 4. Django successfully shoots the guy in the leg. Now the man with no name can't walk or run.

Name: T. "Cheery" Sharps
Gender: Male
Age: 38
Weapon: Double barreled shotgun
Side Weapon: bowie knife
Backstory: A tall man with tan skin, he is bald save for his well kept moustache and mutton chops. Sharps has been in the barkeeping business for quite a while. He never cared for the war, the only thing he had to do with that whole debacle was that it forced him to move towns and start all over. Still, the people in this town soon grew to like him and his establishment. He rents his rooms and sells his drinks to any who can pay. Nobody really knows what the T stands for, and sharps is never quite in the mood to tell anyone. His past is unclear, which suits sharps just fine. He finds that people's pasts are not often something they are very proud of, and as such never asks anyone who wishes to stay at his establishment about their past or where exactly that money came from.

Name: Kathryn "Calamity" Cane
Gender: Female
Age: 23
Weapon: Colt 1851 Navy Revolver
Side Weapon: Pepperbox Pistol
Backstory: "Calamity" Kathryn was once the daughter of a successful riverboat captain, and smuggler for the Confederacy during the war. She watched him hanged, and spent the rest of the war in near poverty-until she learned to run cards. Kathryn began a career as a high stakes card shark, paying her way from town to town with a steady hand, and a bluffing grin. Most people underestimate her, and most people are angry when she wins. Kathryn learned to carry a gun, and has gained a reputation for inviting fortune, disaster, and interesting times wherever she goes. She does not do much to disavow the rumors, and claims at times she's under a curse from her fathers ghost. A long time running has lead her to live recklessly and seek excitement over boredom.

Physically, not to much look at from a distance, but her fierce blue eyes and long black hair can catch an interest in those looking deeper.

This town was merely a mean to an end.
Look for bold adventurers to assemble a party with. Tell them to meet me at the tavern in 2 hours. After I set up the meeting, I shall go to the telegraph office.
Now to follow the plan.

"yep, slow day it  seems" Cheery mutters to himself.

Get behind the bar counter and start polishing a glass like a true bartender

[1] You get to the counter and begin to do the same thing you have been doing for many years. This new town has been very good to you, with new friends and many customers. But you consider that the life you've been living was wasting you away. You yearn for some adventure; at least one grand journey. Then you could satisfyingly bartender the rest of your life.

This town was merely a mean to an end.
Look for bold adventurers to assemble a party with. Tell them to meet me at the tavern in 2 hours. After I set up the meeting, I shall go to the telegraph office.
Now to follow the plan.

[6] You fire your rifle in the air, getting the attention of most of the townsfolk. You begin to tell them your tale of family, betrayal, and redemption(A red kind.) just as the sheriff comes to investigate. He ushers you to the Lawman's office.

"What th' hell you doin' firin' in public like that?! Why didn't ya jus' come to me?"

Go get a drink at the bar.

[3] After many days on the road, you wander into a small town, "Coyote" you hear someone say as they welcome you, but you didn't pay much attention to that man. You enter the saloon and walk to the bar, where you meet the bartender. He seems nice enough, and you order a drink.

Make sure I have money to pay for the drink before accepting it.

You do. It's assumed you guys have enough cash for a few days.
