Mako KanadeMako Kanade lived her life in Sinnoh's busiest city: Veilstone. She worked both as a training partner for the Gym Leader, using both of her own Pokemon to help train Maylene's Pokemon to be in tip top shape for trainers coming to challenge the gym, and as a Poke Ball Crafter. She'd craft her Pokeballs and sell them to Shops. She was quite good at it, too. In fact, most of Veilstone's Basic Balls and Great Balls were crafted by Mako herself.
The story of how she'd come upon her Pokemon is interesting, to say the least... a trainer showed up to the Gym one day and challenged Maylene. Maylene had been busy with other things at the time, and couldn't respond to the challenge immediately. This seemed to dishearten the man, and instead of waiting, he deposited two Eggs, telling Mako to 'Keep guard of these two. They will be your life someday...' Cryptic messages aside, the man left without another word. In the time the eggs took to hatch, the man had not shown back up for a challenge. Asking around Veilstone, noone seemed to know who the man was, or even saw him at all. Regardless, Mako decided to do as the stranger bade, protecting her Pokemon to the best of her ability. They were Luna, a Brave Riolu who would make sure her friends were never in danger for long, and Rose, a Modest Ralts. Her power was well enough, but she would never admit that she was powerful, only well-trained. With Luna and Rose in tow, Mako trained with them at Maylene's Gym for a while... until that fateful encounter...
A herd of rampaging Ponyta came thundering through the town at high speed from both directions... something had spooked them good. With Maylene saying she'd help as well, the pair of them along with their Pokemon attempted to calm the rampaging Ponyta before they trampled over innocent civilians and ran into more flammable locations... Maylene seemed to have things handled on her end... but Mako wasn't so lucky. Before she could fully try to calm them down, she was knocked to the ground. Bleary-eyed from the knock to the ground, she could see hooves headed right for her skull... resigning to her death, she closed her eyes and awaited the quick death that Arceus had for her... and as she closed her eyes, the sounds of hooves stopped altogether... but she didn't feel anything... as she opened her eyes, she found herself seemingly floating... and in front of her, was Cresselia. The God Pokemon of good Dreams. As Mako looked around, she realized she wasn't floating... just not feeling the ground beneath her in the clearing. A forest in Sinnoh, by her reckoning. As Cresselia explained the situation, Mako looked on, awe-inspired... and as Cresselia asked the important question, her only reply was 'Yes.' And as she touched the feather, the blinding light hit her... hard. And she has awoken on this, the shore of Fullmoon Island, awaiting the Ferry back to Canalave... with others she knew not beforehand.
