Numbers, force, and concentration.

If you're outnumbered, you're doomed (unless good evade :p). If you're cut off and swarmed, you're into a ton of pain.
FE Weapons deal a lot of damage, and people can only take so much (in our case anyway).

But seeing the 3 in teh East side? We can take them. 3 people max. Everyone else just head south.
We can take all of them. >_>
Just let me lead mwahahaha

I don't call it a rule so much as experience when I've seen bad things happen over and over again because people rush and get distanced from the party. Which causes the main party to try and rescue them and get wound up in the mess of the small group.

Snow Town (FEF1), Ballista Cliffs (FEF2), Monster Swamp (NEF2), Beginning Mansion (FEF1), the Prologue (FEF1), Forest Surrender (NoH), The Castle (NoH), The Boat (NoH; Only for a Small bit though and on a more minimal scale than the others)... I could probably name more that I've seen.

By this point I don't even count it as a generalization but a series of predictable events.

It's a bit embarrassing that the most common game on your list is mine.

Actually, NoH is tied with FEF1 there.

Tir, Hasp's already deployed in the east, and seriously, it's not a good idea to split the party. :/

Let's just get the game rolling. If people are really set to split, fine. We'll just make sure to be close enough just in case and hope nothing bad happens.

I suggest Hasp's mage, a non-troub healer, and the two NPCs over at the east. Everyone else at the south, preferably southeast, in case something bad were to happen that either side could get to the other. Since on the east, the NPCs can pack up and leave quickly thanks to their mounts if things go bad on the southern end, and we have the troub healer in case things go bad on the other end.

No rush, but do keep in mind that until you guys all deploy I can't finish the prologue map.

I'll just cry now, that nobody counter-suggested in IC.

Nawp, I'm not planning. You want to split, we'll split!

(No, but really, like Xan said, it should be fine)

Fine, here's a plan for deployment:

Spoiler: Plan (click to show/hide)

Everyone else is already deployed (repositioned Tir since she was trying to sit on Hasp's character)

I guess I could use that if things keep going the way they're going, but I'd prefer if everyone posted themselves in the IC thread, whether they follow your suggestions or not.
