Economy. Uh oh!
« on: August 13, 2014, 04:44:34 pm »

What a dangerous post this may be with such a title. My question is specifically for the developer or admins. How much real life currency must I pay in order to speed up the process of re-introducing dwarf bucks in a working matter. I'm serious.

a) The developers are the forum moderators, apart from on a couple of subforums and I forget which those are.
2) Toady won't take bribes.

My plan has been foiled! Cant blame me for trying. What's the story behind the economy anyways?

Well it ended up being done away with for the moment because everyone would end up spending more time hauling coins around than actually working, grinding productivity to a halt.

Hmm, a shame. I was quite serious about offering a large portion of moneys if it could be focused on. I guess I'll go back to smelting coins for the 110% return value.

Well, you can always still donate it, and ask politely in your donation note for the re-inclusion of the economy. It may not do anything, but at least you're supporting Toady.

How big of a contribution are we talking original poster? I believe there has been precedent of Toady moving up certain objectives due to major donations.

I want to tell you they were bad men, cephalo.  I want to tell you that with a better overseer the Fortress never would've gotten so bad someone would get offed in a pointless fisticuffs.
But the sad truth charlie?
It was inevitable.

Truly it was an apt and hilarious allegory for real world economics.

I'm talking a very large donation. However much time he'd need to put into it to get it done, id pay for at a premium. (This could be several thousand dwarf bucks)

Are you actually a massively successful capitalist who is trying to use DF as a platform to forward your agenda?

I have eyes on you.

we need a slogan

But really if you're serious about it, contact him by email or something rather than posting on the forums. You'll be far more likely to get a response.

'What is life?', you ask. Fundamentally life is the apotheosis of pointlessness. We live to multiple. But what for? The Endless cycle of carnage pulls hardest on the furthest victim. An inescapable fate; one no one wants but we all desire. The more immoral we become the more ideal we are. A perverse oxymoron. We who live unencumbered but are the most burdened. We fight but at the end it is all for naught, as in life there are no winners; only the undistinguished.
