Mixed loyalties when pitting goblin
« on: August 12, 2014, 08:09:54 pm »

I made a training room for my dwarves and I pitted the first gobbo successfully behind a locked door and locked hatch. Sent the first valiant recruit in there and he did fine.

Then I tried to pit more goblins and my dwarf took one out of the cage and promptly started to run away from him. I killed the gobbo but then my overcome by terror trader who had tried to pit him started causing job cancelations. I thought maybe panicking made them yell at the other dwarves and cause them to stop on their tracks but someone shot at him! He became an enemy? I couldn't target him with a squad but my dwarves were treating him like an enemy.

So I stationed a squad near him and that was that. It took a long time because he was wearing full steel armor and my military sucks(hence the live gobbo training).

I saved and tried to pit two more. The first one was fine, the second one made the same thing happen. Maybe the becoming scared of the gobbo part is due to the stats - whether the dwarf is stronger than the gobbo - because I looked at those two guys' personalities and there was nothing in there about cowardice.

I have yet to try this with the stockpile being right next to the pit.

EDIT: Apparently it's a bug from .06 that was supposed to be fixed but here I found it in .08
