As far as you can tell the traps are all in the wall however you do notice a small slot in the wall that the blade comes out and the break in the wall where it comes in and crushes. you stick you hand in to test it and pull it out just as it comes in. it seems that it crushes in less then a second however when going back into the wall it takes a good 5 seconds and will not crush again until it is back in the wall.
