Fun little game. I started a char with 9 agility, 5 body, 5 accuracy, 1 intelligence. Started with 44 carry capacity, 5.5 speed, and 51 weight (so a fairly small character with a weight capacity almost high enough to carry himself - and I guess since he's small he needs little food, because he eats less than most people I recruit). He's turned into a bit of a power house when it comes to combat.
I started off by killing some Drekar who jumped me right off the bat and taking their stuff. Did some trading, bought me a donkey, and did more trading. At this point I was at the mission where I was supposed to take out the Drekar guys since I sided against them. Instead of staying on the rails I just bought a bunch of food and water and went straight south of the bunker and ran into more towns down that way. Got jumped by a couple scavengers and picked up a rifle, and from there I was really doing good with aimed shots taking out guys from across the field. Found horses for sale and got me a pair of horses (bye bye, Donkey), which made my speed on the map rocket up to 12. Soon I was trading for more money and bought a couple more horses and hired some NPCs with high agility and accuracy, also equipped with rifles. Then I got a bunch of food and water and set off again directly East. The first attempt I died of thirst after wandering through a completely empty land for a while, so I loaded and altered my heading to more Northeast and went again. This time I found a town and bought a pair of maps from the shop - one of Qubba and one of the Federation. Suddenly I had 40 new towns on my map to explore. And soon I was fighting really tough enemies, but winning thanks to rifles and scopes I kept buying from shops.
Now my squad is riding around with automatic rifles and bazookas, in military armor and federation helmets (which look kinda like riot gear).
Traveling back and wiping out the Drekar with bazookas was funny.
Oh and don't go East to these towns without a good squad. Theres a group called mad dogs who ride horses and there is no escaping them on foot. They are worth a fortune if you kill em though, you get all the horses worth 60-80k each.
