...So THAT was what smelled like heavily burnt meat. Oh..oh dear spirits...I feel queasy.

"That helps. No ambushes. Thanks. I was-I was just concerned seeing the extent of damage on the village."

Jasmine nods, surveying the small village.

: "I'm a little surprised pirates are running around here, to be honest. But at least the village itself looks mostly untouched. We'll let the Hylian army know about this, and they'll probably send some soldiers to protect it."

: What the heck are these pirates doing raiding a little baby town like this? There's no rupees in stealing from a bunch of old fishermen!

Turn Eight - Player Phase

The Iron Bands keep pressing.  Lidia visits the inn.

Don't come any closer, pirate, I'm warning you...!  Just... just take this and leave!

Lidia receives a Hatchet.

Turn Eight - Enemy Phase

The raider runs for its life, to its Captain's side.

So yer the band that wiped out my crew, are ye?  Stinkin' mercenaries... I'll avenge them all!

Turn Eight - Allied Phase

Adaeran moves up.

Lay down your weapon, pirate, and this'll go easier for you!

Har har!  Come and make me, scum!

: "You're badly outnumbered and we've "wounded" all of your men. Just give up already. I hear Hyrule Castle has a rather nice dungeon."

Move 5 left, burn the boss.

Move A6, shoot the Captain, then retreat two squares to the right.

Move to-...

"Er, Jasmine? Shouldn't we target the archer first? I'm a bit...wary of him nearby."

: "Nah. The Captain is the biggest, the strongest, and most importantly the archer's boss. We take the Captain down now, before he can cause any damage, and the archer will either run away or surrender."

"Right. I'll try my best to unbalance him so you can get a clear shot. Just...don't hit the trees."

Move to A-5; Slash Boss! (if unable to move to that location, move to nearest tile, preferring forest, and activate Leaf on the Wind)

Turn Nine - Player Phase

As the team gets in position to finish off the pirate captain, Jasmine pulls slightly ahead and shoots a pair of fire blasts.

ARRGH!  N-no!  We were beaten by these s-stinkin' sellswords...?  It... it h-hurts...

The last few surviving pirates, almost all severely wounded, run off as soon as their captain goes down.  Mido Town is safe.

End of Prologue.

C H A P T E R   O N E

Border Hyrule

Mido Town

We really can't thank you enough for driving off the pirates.  They've been plaguing us for years, you know.  We can't even begin to repay you adequately...

No, no... there was no contract, so there can be no payment.  We fought off the pirates on our own initiative.  The spoils are yours.  However... we wouldn't mind some method of transport.  We're heading into Hyrule, and I know from hard experience it's a long way on foot.

Of course!  I keep a fresh team in the stables.  If you can drive a coach, you just need to harness them and they're yours.

Thank you.  Hey, Zoda!  We're heading out.  We'll see you and your crew again soon as the job's done, share a drink right here, alright?

Alrighty!  You kept my ship scratch-free once again, Adaeran, so drinks'll be on me!  Good luck!

Everyone, we leave in two hours.  Make sure you don't forget anything.  Our next stop is a day's ride northwest - Border Hyrule, near Kakariko City.

Jasmine dusted off her gloved hands as though she had just finished loading coal into a furnace.
: "Well, I guess that's that. You ladies still in one piece?"
