"If I had any interest in being so. I'm afraid that I'm more of a guardian angel than anything else. But a step above that being a Goddess. But I prefer to let my pets decide amongst themselves what to do and assist them in their goals. They're always so happy when they manage something. Once or twice even without my help. They really are darling." The latter three sentences having a strange sing-song quality to it. One would get the impression that Gwynovin viewed the others as pets. And that impression would be correct.

"They were giant wasps rather than bees. As I recall, you were stung numerous times. We had to carry you out." Tirriam interjected, her tone mild. "Accuracy in reporting these matters is vital."

Gwynovin laughed heartily, and sincerely, at this "You are too funny Tirriam. We both know that my divine constitution practically laughs off most poisons."

A voice broke their talk, and before they even reached the throne room, there he was standing by a corridor. The king of Braveheart, King Oshimar III.

"Then perhaps you would like to grace me with your presence, self-proclaimed 'godess'?"
The guard gasps and stops dead, standing straight at attention.
"Y-Your majesty! These visitors have answered y-your summons!"
King Oshimar gives the guard a smile and waves him off, signalling the guard to ease. The guard falls from his attentive posture and looks at the group.

Knowledge check recall - did he have any particular titles Tirriam should use? Any particular likes or dislikes in personality?

Tirriam
People simply call him 'His Majesty' or King Oshimar. Tirriam does not know the king's specific likes or dislikes.

Suppressing the urge to punch Gwynovin, Shai'ven bows to the king.

"Your highness. Greetings. We are at your service."

The King smiles and looks at Shai'ven.
"Hello, Shai'ven. I do apologize for summoning you all at such short notice, but I am afraid that the matter is quite urgent. Shall we move this discussion into the throne room?"

Tirriam dropped into a neat courtsey, nodding her head respectfully.
"Greetings, your majesty. Do not mind my companion's delusions. "

She followed him into the throne room.

"I must admit a curiousity about this summons, your majesty." The others would not find this overly surprising. There didn't seem to be much she wasn't curious about. Indeed, she'd made Shai'ven haul one of the giant wasp corpses away, just so she could dissect it later. She'd then cooked it, theorising that the venom would become harmless when heated intensely. She was almost completely right. She was also the only one who had taken antivenom, or indeed know about the 'surprise' in the meal.

The king sat down at the end of the large metallic table in the middle of the throne room. Servants bring the travelers wine and luxurious food on shining silver plates.
"Of course... tell me, are you capable of escorting important people? Let us say, a person, that under any circumstances is not to be touched by enemy hands, or even looked at?"

Tirriam did not eat or drink. She'd obtained a ring of sustenance quite a while back. It wasted time when she could be reading or studying something.

"Secretively? This group has no small measure of fame, so any companion would likely be scrutinised, and should the enemy learn of our new companion, they would be able to track us down and pick out the target with ease. I suppose we could preform a bluff, dressing the person as one of us, and presenting someone else as the target.

Most effective transport would be teleportation, your majesty. Almost impossible to intercept, and no danger in transporting the person of interest. A cheap magical device could render the person able to easily survive any injury from teleportation mishaps. Or, as a contrast, you could do a double bluff, and hire us to escort a fake, and leak the knowledge of our escorting the target while the real one is escorting by someone else. But increasing the number of participants means more must be trusted."

Tirriam paused a second to refuse a glass of wine.

"No thank you. Alcohol fogs the mind. But if you wanted an escort that would be effective in protecting the object even if she was discovered, with a maximum of secrecy, our team would be quite sufficient."

She assumed the King was talking about the princess.

Knowledge check on the princess. Yup, gonna do a lot of knowledge checks...

"Teleportation is too risky with the Warp Manifold. Our two options right now are to either take carriage or griffon, and I trust that you know which is safer. Carriage, if you did not know."
The Warp Manifold is the phenomenon caused by the Great Cascade of 1350, where all teleportation circles suddenly failed and created Warp City. If one were to attempt a long-distance teleportation, it would likely lead straight into Warp City.
"Do you accept the task? You will be payed handsomely with a sum of... would 10,000 gold be sufficient?"

[1+5] Tirriam has no idea about the princess... has she even seen her before?

"He's getting to that. Quit being so impatient."

Anderson of course could care less who the escortee was. All that mattered to him was the prize offered, and depending on who it was 10,000 gold pieces might actually be low.

"It is far to early to reject or accept the job, your majesty. I imagine from here, by who, where to, when by, and what are the enemy?"

"There is no catch - I am a King, after all. You will begin travelling tomorrow at dawn. The enemy, anything suspicious. Your destination, Iayar - it may be safer to take the river.
Your escort, my daughter."

"...oh, that's me!"
Princess Lily rushes through a corridor and enters the throne room, taking light breaths. She looks up and at the four.
