The Incredible Machine 4! Yayyyy. Hopefully. Hell, I don't even mind if it's a little 2d android game. I play TIM2 through Dosbox on my phone because it is.

I wonder who ended up with the rights for Homeworld? Sierra had a hand in publishing it, so who knows.

Actually, on that note: Half-Life 3 is confirmed!

You heard it here first :)

Gearbox did, a little over a year ago they announced they will be making a homeworld 1 and 2 HD remake and since instead is now being merged into one game. So I guess homeworld cataclysm was a non-cannon spinoff after all. :'(

I would like a real King's Quest 9. The KQ9 made by Phoenix Online left me really disappointed. Sure it LOOKED fine and probably plays great, but the narrator ruined it for me with obnoxious fourth-wall breaking and self-advertising in the first minutes of the game. And the performance itself isn't that great either. Immediate uninstall, it was that bad.

I remember self advertising was quite common in Sierra games. Looking into a hole in a rock in Kings Quest 1 got an advert for the sequel or Space Quest and there were a few scattered around in other games.

Does Roberta Williams still work in the games industry? From my understanding, she was the main driving force behind the Kings Quest series.

If there is one thing I can say for "The Silver Lining" (The fan made finale to Kings Quest...) is that it has so much continuity it HURTS!

Which I love, because Kings Quest has very little continuity between games and yet the Silver Lining has everything!

It isn't flawless mind you, far from it, but honestly I appreciate the effort a great deal.

I thought it was a poster behind a tree; maybe I'm thinking of 2, but it was more of an easter egg or post-credits thing in King's Quest than say, Space Quest.

If you want the ULTIMATE SERIES of references you have to play Quest for Glory 4

It has the Island of Dr. Brain, Space Quest, and more!

Though Quest for Glory was always in continuity with Space Quest.

Yes, they were out of the way more than, say, the advertisements on the TVs in Ultima IX.

I believe the adverts changed depending on the version of the game, like the DOS version or the Apple 2 version.

No, she retired from gaming to write novels a long time ago (google says 1999).

There was some facebook game she helped make (or at least sold her name to) in 2011, but as far as I can tell that was a one-time thing.

Roberta is also kind of crazy

But that is what helped her make such great games.

PTW To keep up to date on the dried reanimated husk of Activision-Sierra. Can't think of many other companies I'd rather not have buying one of my favorite defunct one.

While I WOULD be interested in a new Phantasmagoria game, immensely... It is a game where I feel the spirit is carried in its FMV sequences. So it cannot be remade.

New Kings Quest makes me excited, but it is such a product of the time and creator... that I honestly wonder if they can pull it off

I was sort of hoping that swat would get some sort of reboot or we get a proper swat 5 but thats mostly just me since most people remember swat 4 for flash bangs and poor ai partners that get in the way. Also as weird as it would be another phantasmagoria game.

Here is a question qazcake...

Would you want a Phantasmagoria closer to the 1st, 2nd, or that does its own thing?

If there is one thing I appreciate with Phantasmagoria is that as a horror game, it holds its cards close and doesn't play them right away. The game is about the spiral into madness rather then insanity to further insanity like the vast majority of horror games (with the Chozo mythos series being somewhat similar. The games don't get "scary" until much later)
