Also new livestock idea. Name to be determined later. They are called stingtail wasps

They are flightless wasps that are bred and butchered for their stingers which can be used as ranged ammo. Currently I'm thinking iron grade. So what do you guys think. Any ideas for names?

You can fake being able to run on water. You can't fake looking cool when you break your foot on a door and hit your head on the floor.

Stingtail wasps. I dont think so as pets. Get them by beekeeping

Why not use bee keeping for breeding, or at least for special things?

Sorry, I just think it could be fun.

My main complaints about beekeeping is that  I find it kind of ridiculous that tiny bugs that can fit in hives by the thousands are able to produce stingers large enough to be used as arrows. I can still code it in though so the only problem will be breaking suspension of disbelief. Although they probably could be realistically used as blow darts (but isn't that a kobold feature).

So another topic, livestock ideas.

Make whatever suggestions you want. We do need wagon pullers and vermin hunters though.

How about big ants for wagon pulling?
I know it's not quite right, but I'm having troubles figuring out what animal could follow the lead of giant wasps that would fit for any of the common animal things (egg, milk, shearing, pulling, vermin hunting...).

Sure but for parasitism I prefer to go outside and capture the local wild life, It will create a new play style and present it's own unique challenges. All though i can add a new wild animal called giant caterpillar that will eventually transform into giant butterfly, and you have to hunt down the caterpillar before it transforms

hmm google pointed me to [Hymenoepimecis argyraphaga] a wasp that stings a spider which temporarily paralyzes it then places a single egg on its abdomen
the egg hatches and the larva sucks the blood of the spider.  once large enough it will inject chemicals into the spider that makes the spider produce a cocoon. once finished the wasp poisons the spider and sucks it dry then it will metamorphosis into an adult inside the spider made cocoon
ahh nature

I saw that in RL. Wasp bites spider, paralyzed. It then bites off all 8 legs and drags the spider into some dark crack or hole, lays eggs in it, leaves.

Later on, larvae eat the living spider inside out.

we have lots of wasps here that kill the spiders for larvae food.  making a mud cocoon then filling it with dead spiders and larvae

it was just cool that there's a wasp that uses chemicals to make the spider its slave for a night, the spiders last
here's a link to a summary on them http://www.abc.net.au/science/news/stories/s154197.htm

edit:  there's a bunch more on brain controlling parasites from wasps to ants to fungi in a top 10 list
http://listverse.com/2009/07/29/10-fascinating-cases-of-mind-control

edit 2: number 3 on that list has a caterpillar that becomes a zombie guard of the larval wasps during there pupae stage xD

OK so I'm thinking we make emerald wasps a medical caste, and the caterpillars can be war animals. Any ideas on how to implement sipders?
