I'd argue that the moral high ground would be not blundering into more things.
Def

Trying to solve every middle east conflict by bombing it into oblivion has so far resulted in oblivion

Unfortunately, that's the kind of tactic that the republican candidates think should be used there. Obviously some of it is just rhetoric, but evidently nobody has any new ideas on how to fix the problem that doesn't involve some violence.

Leave it the fuck alone and wait for the wheel of history to grind everyone down.

Arguably he's already a progressive, just one in the style of an enlightened Kaiser.
I'm going to do the smart thing here and disengage. This isn't a hill I paticularly care to die on.

it was also the US strategy right before WWII and it did succeed in weakening at least one of the sides
unfortunately that side was the US's allies

As opposed to the traditional American strategy of blundering about in the Middle East, which has provided all of terrible results. Historic references are easy to use to prove a point, regardless of what it is.

To be fair not acting when you should act is also a massive blunder, see France before WWII

It's a massive blunder regardless of what you do, except when it isn't.

Limited military intervention with massive coalition support (Desert Storm) gives you a beautiful 100 hour battle, followed by Sadam going back to massacring his own people.

Massive military intervention with full nation building (OIF/OND) gives you the massive cluster fuck we have today, plus enough blood to fill the Persian Gulf.

Pseudo-whatever-the-fuck Iran Contra was leads to cluster fuck

Propping up the strongest country that has massive American lobbying support has given us an occasionally kinda ally that isn't all that good.

Giving the Saudis and Egyptians Abrams certainly hasn't lead to either country being stable (although at least Saudi Arabia has the decency to export all their instability?). On the bright side, it certainly helps pay my bills and forms a substantial chunk of my investment strategy, so there's that.

In conclusion, historically speaking, our best bet is to fire up the Lima tank plant, throw three shifts on it, and export the Abrams to anyone with a pulse.

CIA created ISIS
What people dont know is they also created malt liquor
America is the bad guy, they fund video games and movies to normalise war and glorify their ignorant soldiers, if you see war on tv or news outlets and think nothing of it, their tactics are working.
The camo they gave their lowly marines is terrible in all enviroments and the enemy see them easily.
America is an evil entity and do as they wish.
All hail america its eternal glory and black budget projects, amen

That's ACU, not MARPAT. If anyone wants to stare into the ugly abyss that is military procurement (and you don't feel like looking at ugly f-35's anymore) look at the camouflaged project that resulted in ACU. Who needs good camouflage when the Army needs a distinctive color scheme for marketing purposes?

Yeah your right. Im actually trying to get my hands on my own marpat in this time.
Its very funny that the military spent so much on an all round use camo.
Its kinda like the annoying friend asking your opinion of carpet choices and you just pick one without really caring.
I wonder if any company is designing any textured pixelated camo. Like between a 2D and 3D look. Hell they probably have but it doesnt work well for IR

Sure! Maybe they can cobble together a mecha when they combine them with the set the Iraqi Army gave 'em.

I believe that Abrams tanks are a universal human right, so obviously I support giving them to isis.
They may be our enemy, but if our wars aren't all fought entirely with Abrams whats the point really?
Damn libruls stay away from my tanks.
This isn't satire, just absurdist humor.
