Yes. There were no pyramids of skulls. No cities burned to the ground. Nope.

If only. This whole thread would never have existed if that was that case.

I've never seen it claimed that only women ran the Mongol Empire before. I'm aware of the power of figures like Toregene and Sorkhatani (that spelling is probably atrocious - Mongke and Kublai's mother), but I'd like to see some sources on that.

IIRC, Toregene pretty much ran the Empire (and did so well) at its height for several years. Easily my favorite female-leader-nobody-knows-about to bring up. :P

The airstrikes, they do nothing!

Looks like the random airstrikes are pretty worthless if you don't have any ground troops to direct them.

I'm not sure, ISIS is the only force with tanks in the area, is it that hard to spot a tank from the air?

it is, considering that you have to scan such a huge area to get the tank

also they came with terrain-appropriate camo

Well, the fact remains that Turkey seems to have little interest in saving Kobane (They've been dispersing Kurdish wannabe reinforcement with tear gas this very afternoon). And a few bombs here and there won't be able to turn the tide of battle. We're not seeing air power in the amount that would be needed.

I don't have much to say about this, but come some politicians insist on pronouncing ISIS as "Isels"?

Also PTW

Sometimes ISIS is called ISIL. Combine two, and you get Isels.
