You're stealing their work essentially and just changing it slightly via recolor or whatever. If you don't have permission... yeah, I think it's wrong.

I already shot the guy a PM on his own forum to tell him that I recolored his splice. It was after the fact, and he hasn't been active since like 2010 so he'll probably never see it but I hope that's enough for you.

She means a full custom mug, like fool's and GUNIN's which are both from fe7x, iirc.

EDIT: She's probably also talking about taking and recoloring a splice that someone else made.

You should instead PM bwdyeti or one of the others of that are on the FE7x team and still active, imo.

I'm not sure what FE7x is but the sprite was by a guy on a website called Fire Emblem Empire. I dunno where the sprite is from or if that guy actually spliced it or what, but I PMed said guy, who had it on his sprite sheet, which is where I ripped it from.

FE7x is the fangame that is being made where the mugs were used in, I've got the creator, bwdyeti on skype. The sprites were made by Vampire Elf/Vamp, but he isn't active anymore. He sometimes posts on other FE sites but not frequently.

a) I'll start with an Iron Sword and that's what I thought my skills were anyways. You just phrased them slightly better.

c) Do I also get lockpicks to start since I'm our only thief character?


As for the sprite stuff, basically what FOE said. People using base sprites from the game, sure, fine, whatever. But taking something that someone else has spent time and effort on without their permission, that's less ok. Gun's PM'd the person, so that's cool, but I know that I wouldn't want yoinking one of my splices without my permission. I'm perfectly willing to make one/let someone use it with permission, but without it, as I said, it's stealing. So yeah.

Like a dumbass I thought it was okay to steal someone's original work and think it was okay just because I did a palette swap and the artist hadn't been active on his forum for a few years. I'm not going to be using that mug for this game, of course. I just want to apologize to everyone for bringing my plagiarism here, and I also want to say that I alone am responsible for any consequences this may have.
