Bio: Born into the edges of a Hyrulian town Ahvaris grew up surrounded by humans, knowing little of her own people. When she hit the age of 16 she started noticing the dirty looks, people staring her down whenever she went to pick something up at market. Her explained mom explained it as delicately as she could, their race were stereotyped as thieves and brutish warriors. It was just something she'd have to get used to. Not wanting to accept it, she headed down to the library, reading up as much as she could on her people before being asked to leave by the librarian on duty. Having read what she did she still refused to accept it, packing up her things and backpacking across Hyrule to the deserts of her people, much to her parents protests.
She was nearly out of food when she hit the desert, and the desert winds weren't kind to her. The heat was something else, scorching in comparison to Hyrule's calm countryside. By the second hour of trudging through the sands she was nearly exhausted, but unwilling to give up and turn back now. The hot sands blew into her lips every so often, drying and cutting them as she fought the urge to chug more of her water. By the third hour she was getting weak, luckily a Garudo scout was out patrolling. As she was starting to blackout she could hear the garudo cursing her as an outsider under her breath.
She awoke in a garudo fort, jailed, but a light quilted blanket laid warmly against her. As she sat up the guard wandered off immediately, leaving her polearm behind for a moment before returning with another garudo. The newly arrived garudo adored in gold necklaces and a loose leather jerkin spat into her cell, demanding to know why she came here. Ahvaris tried her best to explain herself, explaining that her town saw them as nothing but thieves and boorish warriors. At this comment she scoffed, giving a hardy laugh. She threw open the door, unsheathing her knife, cornering a very scared Ahvaris and pressing the blade to her throat. She uttered with a hint of bitter anger, "We are so much more. Stay if you wish. It's not enjoyable to toss our own into the desert." She pulled the blade back, sheathing it as she walked out of the building.
She had no luck with a blade, but her skill with their ancient magics was a pleasant surprise. After 5 years with the garudo she set off to return home, satisfied with what she learned amongst them. Her parents were teary-eyed to see her again, hardly recognizing her as she came back through their door. Wanting to give back to the parents she abandoned for 5 years, she set out to use her magic to help support their somewhat rundown house.
