King's Colon: The Legend: The semi-blind LP: Backstory time
« on: August 07, 2014, 08:33:15 pm »

With my upload speed preventing me from doing a video LP and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic flat out not working on Windows 7 x64, I present to you another shot at an LP: King's Bounty: The Legend.

The King's Bounty series, from what my research tells me, was the originator of the strategy mechanics made far more famous by the Heroes of Might & Magic series. Unlike HoMM, however, it focuses more on role-play with strategic combat. This is not the original King's Bounty, but rather a more recent reboot of the series. It is semi-blind in the sense that I played about 1 to 2 hours of it. I'll be playing it on medium difficulty (mostly due to the blind factor, since I don't feel confident enough to try my luck at the harder ones).

However, an LP ain't much without audience participation so you get to make some decisions. From what I've played, every now and then a quest can present you with a choice, even if that choice boils down to diplomacy vs combat. In those cases, you get to choose which I take. In case of a tie, I'll flip a coin or roll a die as appropriate. Furthermore, you also get to choose the starting class and name of our brave hero (I reserve the right to choose a crest, which will be the Space Rangers one you can see on the screenshots below). When it comes to builds, I'll accept suggestions, but it's ultimately up to me. So, without any further boring details, have a look at what our brave and certainly most noble hero can be.

What if “slammed in the ass by dead philosophers” is actually the thing which will progress our culture to the next step?

Oh, wow, those certainly are pretty, pretty boys.  The game people certainly seem to be trying to draw in those who are attracted to men.

On a completely unrelated note...do they have any female characters?  ;D

Only in the sequel, where it's all female. I'll probably do that one when I'm done with this, but that'll take a while. By the looks of it, Paladin won by a small margin. As amusing as Pal the Paladin would be, I'll go with Murtun Lothor the Paladin. First update will probably be in a few hours, depending on how long it takes to do the writing.

Sadly... I think tier wise it goes: Warrior > Mage > Paladin

Mage though is a VERY conditional better... Mage is the worst one until very far into the game. Which can mean Paladin is better anyway because the game is about dwindling resources.

Warrior is even better in its sequel.

Internet's been bad, so no update until I manage to fix that or it fixes itself. Aside from that, I got everything else ready.

Neonivek has a point, I think, from what little I tried of each. Still, the people have spoken and paladin it is.

We're Bay12.  We'd win with a chicken and a wooden sword.  For the Dwarven Kingdom!  Smite the Heretic Elves!

This had to be a short one since I'm still editing the other images. Still, have some introductory backstory.
