About that, the respect costs are in-game money, right ?

I'm still level 14 or so, so I4ve got time and I think I'll stay only BR/Def until level 20 at least, so my final build clearly isn't something urgent for me ^^

Welp, they released 2 news servers, which are already queueing in the thousands.  A lot of people are having trouble connecting, and Trion said "If you're having trouble with the new servers, log into your existing character to kick start your account and it should work!" and NO ONE is able to get into their existing characters.

Furthermore, they've gone ahead and locked new character creation on 3 existing servers.  So, it seems I can't join anyone on Salphira anyways.

I was hoping Trion would know how to handle servers since they support RIFT so well, but instead they've gone the route of End of Nations with their management...

I managed to play after firing up the game and going to sleep, then when i woke up i only had to wait about an hour. Played 2 hour and then closed the game. I have the feeling its warcraft with some novelty... What turned me off presto and rose my *get rid of that* meter was the LP system, basicly you want to craft a sword? Sure no problem, but only one every 100 minute and thats only for crafting it, you cannot gather ressource more than once every 10 minute 5 if you are founder, THEN you have to process it wich use more *labor point*.

The way it works is that everything not relate to combat cost labor point and you get 5 labor point per 5 minute 10 if you are paying.... So basicly they killed *botter* by placing a hard time cap wich will encourage the botter to simply make more character to become efficient.... then only the normal playing players get penalised. You just killed a mob? congratulation you just found a purse containing money wich cost labor point to actualy GET the money..... Or you just found an unidetified item? Fine you can identify it for even more labor point about 10 point each.

Tere is some combo move you can do, if you enemy are staggered you might do more damage using a specific skill and if you are in party it stacks, i mean other player can stun the enemy and your *exploit* attack will result in a combo damage, i like the synergy but again i got soo turned off when i realised that the labor point system was basicly hard capping you to do anything and placing a hard limit on what you can actually *do* beside combat... Frack even facebook games sometime are more permissive than that.

Either i got it spot on on the labor system or i missed something somewhere.......

DF doesn't mold players into its image - DF merely selects those who were always ready for DF.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

I would say that's a little harsh... you may be looking at the game the wrong way.  You may more enjoy Wurm or Haven and Hearth, where the focus is entirely on crafting.  ArcheAge sounds a LOT more like a traditionaly dungeon-diving MMO, but also with a lush crafting side that's more than simply 'you made x item'.  You should spend more time adventuring compared to crafting.

But that's only speculation.  Trion doesn't want me to play.

There's a simple solution to the LP system. When your LP runs out, stop doing LP-related stuff. Go out and kill things, or just explore. I've heard that exploring is a great thing to do in the game, since the world is so freaking huge and almost everything is accessible.

Which server are you all playing now that the queue for early servers are so crazy long?

I've decided to go Ezi (NA). Thinking of playing cat-race with some sort of 'paladin' build. I guess that means defense, auromancy, vitalism, and something else (battlerage?)

When I logged on this morning, there was literally no queue for Ezi.

I was going to start playing, but I decided to say screw it for now; I'll wait a while longer and see what happens with the population. I don't want to join a server before the angry mob gets there only to find out that the queues get just as bad as the others if not worse.

I looked at this thread expecting more complaints about queues.
But apparently there aren't any yet, on a Saturday?

I've been in queue for about an hour on Inoch, 291 left. I noticed that my plan of going with the new server at the time has been met with it having one of the highest queues regularly. Yesterday evening it started at about 4400.

Tried to join a server, got a queue.

Looks like it's too soon to say that the queue issues are over with yet.

The queue issues aren't going to go away until game pop. starts dropping to post-hype levels.

There's something -seriously- wrong with your mindset if your idea is "The only way to fix the game is to have less people play!"  Because I legitimately want to play, and I'm not because I can't, so am I solving your problem by giving up?
