Download and play ? :)

It's free, but I think it would nearly be better to wait a week, if you're not already in the game :
You easily get 1h waiting queues as early as 5AM, since it was launched yesterday...

So it depends on whether you can bear it or not (I know I do, because I log-in 5, play at 6 and log-out at 10). Also check with the others on your continent to see in which server and faction they are. It's always more fun with Bay12ers :)

Girlinhat, you roll a character on salphira as either a cat person, or an asian, and join my guild ;D
We can outfit you with anything you need, and it'd be good to play a game with you since we haven't talked in forever!

Those bracelets are still awesome by the way!

I was going to let this game pass me by, since it's basically a click-and-destroy as far as combat, but the other features piqued my interest enough to get me to download it.

Probs gonna be a cat person as well. Cats ftw.

@ mookzen: nah, you just need to know what you're doing with it. people try to do things like battle+sorc+vitalism, and think they are a main dps/healer.

Hey, I'm a cultist (sorc, vitalism, occultism) and can DPS and heal pretty good, but I have a magic attack staff, and a magic healing 2-handed club and switch between the two during battles. There's no cooldown on weapon-switching (edit: there is in fact a 3 second global cooldown), and the fact that you can switch freely between weapons in the middle of a battle is actually pretty nice.

hm...queues...3.8k on inoch where I have an abolisher(battle, aura, defense) and 4k on kyrios where I have a plainswalker(occultist, aura, shadow).
I tried waiting through a 3.3k queue yesterday, gave up after 4 hours when it was at 1.6k left.

Ya, queues are pretty bad right now, hopefully Trion will do something about the population cap on the servers

Bad is an understatement. I've been in queue for 3 hours and went from 2800th place, to 2100th place. Don't think I'll be playing today at this rate... At least I had the foresight to plant crops that take 1d+ to grow!

Edit: Aaaaand I just got kicked, now I'm at the back of the queue. Nope. I can't deal with this. Definitely not playing today.

Eh, except for the few crashes I've had and the queue, launch has been far more stable then i really expected

I remember the first few days of Neverwinter, that was fun :P

Well, since they didn't develop the game they'd have absolutely no excuses for a broken launch. I'm surprised by one thing though, considering the hype around ArcheAge why didn't they anticipate the demand? More servers and free server transfers for the first months would've helped the server queues immensely, seeing as helping queues through combating AFK players is out of their control and must be done developer side.

Think they might be planning for the long term, mainly half the population will be gone by the first week.

Yes, but a lot of Patrons will be probably be gone and won't look back, if their experience of the game consisted of a minimum 3 hour+ server queue whenever they want to check their crops and play for an hour or two.

This game is fun, but it's not worth wasting a whole day in a queue because you just wanted to play for an hour or two.

I thought the patrons didn't have to wait in queue.

Nope, we have to wait in the lines just like the F2P players, we just get "priority". All that means is that instead of waiting 8 hours to get in, we sometimes get in under 5 hours. Sometimes.

Well, I'm downloading.  What and where should I do things to get with the rest of the folks?

Well this looks like a fun game...... I'm going to go watch every episode of Game of Thrones while it loads/brings me through the queue.

Also, really? You have to pay money to report someone for suspected botting?
