"Nope, just bored."

"Oh, if I only had the privilege of boredom. Ah well," the guy goes, and you hear the police arriving. A quick check reveals that they're pretty close by - the squad car's not stopped in front of the house, but it's close.

Try to find any information in recorded instances where one of those capes has lost a figh or got chased away.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

Your call attracts the police, who quickly arrive and check the guy on the ground. He seems entirely cooperative, and mentions that you took his gun. The police ask you to hand it over, or at least one officer does while the other one goes off to check the house.

Well, Kasplortch has never won a fight, though she's hurt quite a few people when she loses. Birdbrain was once shot with a hunting rifle and fell out of the sky, though that's probably apocryphal. Glazzie has gotten her ass handed to her by Birdbrain a few times. The info on this isn't very precise, as Edwardstown's parahumans tend to be a little secretive. You think you'd probably have much better luck with the local newspapers, provided they've got a decent archive. They haven't got more important stuff to report as far as you know.

Hand over the gun, but keep watch. No reason to be surpised by some unexpected attack.

Hunting rifles eh?

Thinking back Steven tries to remember if he saw any in the various pawn shops he visited.

No attacks on the part of the guy, surprisingly enough. Seems like he's fully cooperating. Hm. You keep a careful watch as he is walked to the squad car and locked in the back as the officer calls in whatever seems to be happening here.

Meanwhile, his buddy has come out of the house and approached you. He's asking you a question, the basic idea of which appears to be 'what?' - what's happened here, most pertinently.

Oh, totally. There was an antique you could get for cheap, and one that sold a more modern one that you couldn't help but suspect to be a murder weapon because of its low price tag. There were also a couple of pawn shops that had one or two respectable ones on display, but they were "not for sale", meaning "you have to provide a winning smile, pay a little extra and probably not tell anyone".

"You... stopped him?" the officer asks, looking doubtful. The other cop appears to be rushing back with a slightly excited look.

"Just because I don't like playing dress up does not mean that I can't stop criminal activity." Carrie looks towards the other cop.

"Just because I don't like playing dress up does not mean that I can't stop criminal activity." Carrie looks towards the other cop.

This gives the officer pause, and the other cop runs over to him and whispers something into his ear. The officer slowly mouths an intrigued, drawn-out 'oh'. Both of the cops look at you and smile.

"Great work, miss," one of them congratulates you. "He probably would have gotten away if not for you."

"He would have, yeah. We'll have to get a team in here to find out what all this is about," the other one mentions.

"But we'll take all that from here. Again, thank you," the first one says, tipping his hat. The other one follows suit.

"Feel free to go on your way if you like. No further questions," the second one adds, and the two of them start walking back to the squad car.

As if thanks was what she was going for.  She politely nods and returns home to bandage her cut hand.

Upon arriving home and seeing her hand her father had to ask, "C-Carrie, what...
"Stopped a bad guy, broke his arm and some glass.  Do you know how to deal with this?"  she raises her bleeding hand.
"I can certainly help."  They then spend the next few hours tending to her hand, putting it on ice and watching TV.
