"I… I-it…" Selina is clearly panicking, looking at her hands with a gulp as she walked in numbly, disturbed by the increasing production of the slime; Desperately trying to turn it off somehow with her mind. Things weren't going to continue going as well as they were...

What even is today? Carrie mentally mumbles to herself as she mentally scours the house for anything that the PRT may have left behind, especially things that could be used to spy on her.

Satisfied that he is safe for the moment Steven grabs his phone and sets an alarm on its calendar reminding him to go to the bar on saturday afternoons.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

You panic for a few moments more before a realization dawns on you. It is the panic that's causing this. The power is reacting to your increasingly unstable state of mind. You take a deep breath, steadying yourself. Your hands stop shaking. You stand up straight. For a moment, you might have even looked assertive.

You are in control. The slime responds to your will. You feel it thicken slightly at your command, becoming a little like a soft putty rather than the liquid, oily substance it was before, concentrating in less noticeable areas of your body. Your exposed flesh is clean now, and all the slime that continues to form is going to form where you tell it to. You can even stop it entirely, and then release more later. The power seems forthcoming now, compliant like never before.

"You're doing okay," Rita says, and for a moment you feel like she may have been referring to the use of your power. It is a paranoid, short-lived suspicion that you relegate to the back of your mind. "I'm going to be there with you. You're not alone," she attempts to reassure you.

What even is today? Carrie mentally mumbles to herself as she mentally scours the house for anything that the PRT may have left behind, especially things that could be used to spy on her.

Thank the gods it's Friday.

In addition, you don't find any listening devices, though the PRT presence has left quite a few objects slightly disturbed, if only minutely. Most of it is just things that have been moved slightly. If they've hidden anything here, you'll probably need to check these out by hand.

Satisfied that he is safe for the moment Steven grabs his phone and sets an alarm on its calendar reminding him to go to the bar on saturday afternoons.

That's tomorrow, as it happens. That leaves today open for further shenanigans. Or rest, if you feel like being utterly boring for once.

Do you even have a job? Or, to put it another way, do you still have a job?

Jake sighs. Looks like she got away. Still, there was time for sleuthing after breakfast. Or maybe he could go to school after eating. If it was Friday, he'd have to go to football practice afterwards anyway. For the moment, though, he was focused on finding food. Maybe a taco place or something.

Go and check those areas by hand.

Low-priced tacos are yours within the next half hour. Edwardstown has quite a variety in taco places, you've discovered, which fosters an almost shocking amount of competition. Fans of fake Mexican food have never had it so good, you would venture to say.

Also, it's a bit late for school, given that it appears to be the early afternoon.

Go and check those areas by hand.

You do so. You check the undersides of lamps, the insides of couch cushions and vases, the lamps, practically anywhere you could possibly think to put a bug. You are thorough, you are entirely sure. However, you find nothing despite your efforts, which is probably a good indicator of how the rest of your day is about to go.

Carrie mentally nods and stretches her power to the limits scanning the around her house.  That bastard was here, and that made her uneasy.

Selina nods slowly, keeping the slime from coming back while she kept it from being in any visible location, holding Rita's hand carefully as she walked it, breathing slowly and calmly so that she could maintain her control and confidence.

The bastard's not here right now, you're fairly convinced. He could come back at any time, though, which is not good for one's peace of mind. Perhaps some prophylactic murder may be in order.

((Did my character sheet mention a job? Ive long since lost my copy of it.))

Tech support, apparently. You haven't gone for a few days, so that may in fact be an ex-occupation by this point, as mentioned. Don't imagine tech support call centers having very forgiving employment practices.

Selina nods slowly, keeping the slime from coming back while she kept it from being in any visible location, holding Rita's hand carefully as she walked it, breathing slowly and calmly so that she could maintain her control and confidence.

Hand in hand with Rita you walk inside carefully, keeping yourself together. Once inside, you are drawn to the kitchen, where your father appears to be explaining something to your mother. As you enter, your mother looks on with a shocked expression. Your father, however, is looking at her, and he seems merely very uncomfortable. A silence hits the room.

Your mother takes a step toward you, and your father follows, putting his hand on her shoulder.

"S-selina?" she says quietly. You think she's been crying recently.

((Sure lets go with that.))

Steven decides to head into work regardless, might be worth a laugh if his boss tries firing him.

"I-its me mom... Tr-trust me please... its me." Selina gives a smile, sad but hopeful as she takes a step forward to maybe hug her as well, though letting her mom decide where to go with this as her dad's reaction initially had been... painful to say the least.

Carrie checks herself over for injuries gained from last night, just to be sure that nothing looks too terrible or hurts too much.

Jake wonders whether going to football practice would actually be worth it, since he doubted his coach was unaware he hadn't shown up for classes.
