She shakes her head.

"I… I n-never went o-or did much e-e-ever… I w-went to the library, s-surfed the web… a-and tried to get through school…" Selina now feels she is incredibly uninteresting to talk to… she never really did much of anything really, with that trip to the guys basement being the only really odd or interesting place she had ever gone to before...

"Really? Never? What, your parents never take you anywhere, either? Like, even on road trips?"

"Well shit, best sort this out where the rain isnt on fire."

Picking the girl up Steven carries her into the nearest shelter that isnt burning, falling down or otherwise glaringly obviously unsafe.

You grab the girl and make your way to the nearest exit, though this is probably not so much putting yourself out of danger as you'd like. The girl's pretty light, fortunately, and she doesn't impede your escape overmuch - you make it out of the field and into the halls of the stadium, and this, fortunately, is probably a safer place. While in the field you needed to dodge falling gobs of what seems at the very least equivalent to flaming napalm, here they seem to be very much kept out by whatever roofing is present. The rest of the dangers, however, seem to be very much present in here as well - sudden explosions with no visible source, the structure quaking with the rest of the landscape, the walls twisting into weird shapes in places, all unsecured objects flying around at dangerous speeds, greenish lightning shooting through walls in the distance, that sort of thing.

Fortunately, even with all this in mind, this place is no more glaringly unsafe than the field. Once again, it's not raining napalm in here, right?

The girl, for her part, appears to be slowly regaining her senses, since she's looking around dimly with a pained expression now, though not quite ready to say anything.

Alex would nod.

"Cool. So, what do you want?" the guy asks, smiling for a moment with satisfaction at his immensely good recognition skills.

Jake opens his eyes and tries to figure out what the hell just happened.

Well, shit. Shit is what you suspect happened. Your mind, almost unbelievably relaxed by this point, was suddenly flooded with quite a bit of... something awful, you think. You also think you might have blocked the very worst of it out, though your head still feels like it's going to explode, short-term invincibility be damned. You open your eyes and take a look around. The rooftop is shaking, the wind is howling, large flaming gobs of napalm are raining from the sky in places. The stadium is falling apart, lightning is spiraling through the sky. The swirling clouds remind you strongly of angry gods congregating to give this sinful earth a good smiting or two. Random explosions are taking place on the street and in the air, you spot a car get taken off its wheels and flipped violently along the street like some sort of collision glitch in real life. The wind is almost enough to tear you off the roof. Looking away from the stadium, though, you see the rest of the city - relatively silent, dark, looking almost lifeless and completely dark in comparison with the apocalyptic scene at the stadium.

This is, of course, slightly different, but the feel of it all is distinctly familiar, you bitterly conclude.

How slightly?  And does it appear to be cooking her skin?

Carrie rips off her hoodie as fast as she can and, empowering her movements, attempts to use it to rapidly smother whatever flames she can.
After Carrie's prelog runs its course, if the smothering appears to have any affect at all, Carrie jumps back into her mind to assess the situation.

Slightly as in your hoodie is smoking and you see that one edge has a small flame on it. And while it does feel hot, you're not entirely eager to find out if it's going to give you second degree burns or not. You feel like the first degree might already be forming, actually. So you rip off the hoodie and, assisted by your power, smother it quickly. You consider what to do for a second, activating your power again when a glob of sticky flaming stuff lands next to you, reminding of the urgency of the situation.

You notice several things. Ilo seems to have got One Eighty to respond, and she appears to be coming out of her state. Probably slowly, since Ilo's already started to drag her off the field, and made good progress at that. He might be stronger than he looks, you think. The exploding man has made his escape with the girl, you notice, though the cowboy guy's been left behind. Your current freeze-frame, though, appears to have caught him in the middle of bolting upright with a starkly horrified look.

"Awake now are we? Good, sleeping here isn't such a great idea."  speaks Steven in a low voice while waiting for her to shake it off.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

"Awake now are we? Good, sleeping here isn't such a great idea."  speaks Steven in a low voice while waiting for her to shake it off.

She looks at you. Her eyes look a little dim.

"Oh god. What the hell was that?" she asks, then looks at the pandemonium around. "What the hell is all that? Oh crap."

She looks at her arm.

"Aw, and my arm's still broken, too. Goddammit! This really is the worst, isn't it."

Punctuating her statement, a part of the building further down the hallway starts to collapse.

"Okay! I think we should... wait, hah. I almost started being genuinely afraid there, actually. Silly me."

"The thought hadn't crossed my mind, I'll be honest. You think this could be an illusion?" she asks, tilting her head a little and squinting at you.

"Wow. That's kinda terrible. Did they just, like, leave you alone on the weekends entirely for your whole childhood? That seems kind of weird to me."

"No, im thinking its everyones powers having become unhinged from their bodies and activating randomly.

Your sudden reversal of fear just made me think that you assumed whats going on isn't all that dangerous."

Jake sets his jaw in determination and pulls his mask over his face before making his way down the fire escape. She was here, either in the stadium or nearby, he knew it now. He attempts to get as close to the stadium as he can without activating his power, but he'll activate it if he needs to in order to get out of danger.

"W-we'd watch movies o-on the weekend but… th-they were u-usually busy m-m-most of the year with work. I didn't h-have any grandp-parents either."

"Oh. Are your grandparents all confirmed dead, or is it more like they're mostly racist, abusive and living in the Midwest? Either's a shame, I mean, but I'm just curious."

"No, im thinking its everyones powers having become unhinged from their bodies and activating randomly.

Your sudden reversal of fear just made me think that you assumed whats going on isn't all that dangerous."

"Oh. Do your powers work? I'd try mine, but I don't think that'd be very good for either of us," the girl scratches her head. "Wait, should we really be sticking around? It seems kind of terrible in here. So loud, you know."

While you speak, some guy in a hoodie and a metal mask shows up, looking real dramatic and whatnot. He looks familiar, but you're not sure why. What's he looking for? Trouble, you'd guess, but is it the kind you can provide or some other flavor?

Jake sets his jaw in determination and pulls his mask over his face before making his way down the fire escape. She was here, either in the stadium or nearby, he knew it now. He attempts to get as close to the stadium as he can without activating his power, but he'll activate it if he needs to in order to get out of danger.

You put on your creepy metal mask and start making your way down to the foot of the building, only to be promptly blasted off the rooftop by an inopportune explosion happening next to you. It hurts right up until you activate your power, which you do right before you hit the ground. Feeling clever, you get to your feet quickly and start running for the entrance, which you reach in short order. Running through and into the depths of the building, you find yourself in quite a hellish location - the stadium doesn't quite feel safe, what with the explosions, the flames and the lightning. Making your way through, you come upon two people - a sort of masked (he's got a bandana over his face and some hose over his head, plus a hat) man talking to a girl. They seem oddly relaxed for the position they're in.

"I'm looking for Mr. Black."

"What do you need him for? He's pretty useless as far as I can tell. Doesn't seem to know much of use. Like, about anything I care about at all," the guy tells you in a bored tone of voice.

Carrie continues to try to reach the Eds

This proves easy, or at least you luck out with there being no explosions in your path, and you reach Ilo with due haste. One Eighty appears to be recovering nicely, all things considered.

"That was a very bad thing you did there," Ilo tells you. "Just three keys would have been a better choice. But hindsight is 20/20."

"No shit, man!" One Eighty agrees, getting to her feet as Ilo stops dragging her and lets her get up. "That right there? That was the worst. Literally, I mean. It was the worst anything I have ever experienced."

"Probably best to talk less, run more," says Ilo, and takes off at a sprint. One Eighty immediately follows, and you manage to catch up with the use of your power, the three of you managing to sprint out of the open and into the stadium halls.

"Man, bringing Dissent was a fucking awful idea, wasn't it?" says One Eighty along the way.

"Indeed. Should have known she would find some way to ruin everything. Again," Ilo agrees. "Not even any good as a deterrent anymore."

"D-dead. They w-were in Japan wh-when... when the endbringer hit." She goes quite pale at the mentioning of that terror, only being small at the time but knowing full well the destruction they caused and the fear that would come when the Simurgh hit her next target...

"What, all four of them? On Kyushu way back when? That'd be some serious bad luck. Were they having a bonding trip or something?"
