Selina was surprised by the story… and at how much she didn't know about the house, though now some things made a bit more sense with the boy's reactions… And also explained why Rita was so forward in a way with this as she didn't know what she wanted or was feeling.

"Y-yeah… I understand that a-a lot. TH-things get pr-pretty hectic at those t-times." Selina gives a small, encouraging smile, understanding the crazy roller coaster affect that had occurred for her.

You consider this, but abruptly all things stop making sense, and your brain floods with a strangeness it has never known, your mind getting pulled in all directions simultaneously. You instinctively close your eyes and shut your ears, buckling over in sensory overload as your brain scrambles to make sense of a few hundred contradictory messages. You think your powers fire off a few times along the way. You can't tell. You fall to your knees and curl up, your brain blithering, babbling, boiling, bubbling, cognition interrupted at a fundamental level.

You regain relative consciousness surprisingly soon, though. The girl seems to have draped herself over you, and doesn't seem to be moving much, although you hear the tiniest incoherent whispers coming from her mouth. The stadium is roaring through the hands you've put over your ears, and the wind is piercing down into your bones, the ground is shaking violently. The world is ending. You just know it.

"If you could keep them turned away from me, that would be nice." Carrie addresses One-Eighty prior to walking to the outskirts of the people on the field's vision.  She then proceeds to sprint as fast as she can, stretching her power to its limits, to the podium and slamming as many keys as she can.

One Eighty gives you the thumbs up as you run over to the podium completely unimpeded with a power sprint, slamming all the available keys, putting to work both of your forearms as you try to test the limits of this strange machine. Your body catches up to you in what feels longer than it probably is, slamming down all the same keys in reality. And then, as you return to real time once more, you start to suspect this wasn't such a smashing idea after all. Or, rather, it was quite the smashing idea, but altogether more literally than you would have liked, as your poor brain feels like it's been struck by a galaxy all at once, strained through an event horizon, been subject to a grim violation of basic rules of causality. You immediately fire off your powers, but it doesn't help - it extends the moment, actually, and in a panic you repossess your body and run like a wounded animal, flat out in no direction in particular. Your astral self trips and skids to a stop on the ground, followed at a much faster rate by the real thing, and it takes a good twenty seconds before you can even begin to make sense of what you see and hear, the cold, damp ground serving as your anchor to reality.

Feeling that it would be important to get your bearings, you try to get up. You're not sure you can. It takes a use of your power, during which you survey the field, afterimages of your strange experience burned into your mind, not just creeping in at the edges, but damping your current perceptions very noticeably. You think you've done a bad thing, sort of. Nobody on the field save for Ilo, who seems to be in the middle of rubbing his temples with a very mildly exhilarated expression with the hints of a smile on his face, has managed to remain upright. Virtually everyone who's fallen down has their eyes closed. As you watch the still of the scene, trying to discern carefully what's real and what's not for over a subjective two hours, you realize you have little idea beyond the things that don't remain past some ten minutes probably not being actual things. That still leaves flashes of fire in the sky, swirling clouds, spires shooting out of the ground, horrific faces forming from strange whitish vapor emerging from the bleachers, spirals of lightning blasting through the walls of the stadium, people levitating slightly above ground, or at least that's what you think they're doing... thing is, you just don't know anymore.

"Ruined all that nice mystery a bit hard, though, didn't it?" Rita looks down at the table, half-shrugging. "You'll lose what little interest you had in the first place at this rate."

Clever illusion... Ilo said it himself, it all effects the mind.  Nothing here is real, except what was before.  The pain would most certainly be real, as would the pleasure, as would any brain damage that results from the trauma, but the floating people, the spires, the lightning, the faces, all a clever illusion.

Carrie attempts to walk over to Ilo as carefully as she can, reactivating her powers as soon as her body catches up to keep as much of this away from her mind as possible.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

You activate your powers and walk over to Ilo, which feels a little strange to you for some reason. You don't really recall being able to walk for this long when activating your powers. You look back, and you don't see your actual body following you. Instead, it seems to have been bowled over by something, limply lying on the side, still attempting quickened walking motions, then stopping. You wonder for a second what this could mean when suddenly your mind is yanked back into your body, which feels highly uncomfortable, you are not hesitant to note. You find yourself on the ground. The wind howls, and you hear something booming chaotically in the air. The artificial lawn looks to be catching on fire in places. Ilo seems to be kicking One Eighty into wakefulness in a less than gentle fashion. He also seems to have put some sort of weird hood with a dorky-looking visor on while you weren't looking. It's starting to rain.

You activate your powers once again, getting up and making your way over to the guy, and this time your body does reach its destination shortly, though once it does, you notice that you seem to be slightly on fire.

Alex would go up to the house, taking a deep breath. He would ring the doorbell.

Somebody you'd take for a serious PRT man were it not for his ridiculous round glasses answers the door.

"Hello. You must be that guy, right? Kibbel's guy?" he says. "I got briefed on you this morning."

"W-well... w-we've barely scratched th-the surface of eachothers full st-stories though s-so... w-we still have a l-lot to know! B-besides... y-your plenty interesting." Selina smiles, hoping to make Rita a bit happier, her eyes only slightly red from her previous almost crying.

"You see, I have to guilt you into even starting to hit on me. The game needs to be stepped up, clearly," Rita looks at you, thoughtfully putting a finger to the corner of her mouth. "Otherwise we'll just start reciting our biographies and crying into our beer and doing other things you do at a bar. Tell me about something you've enjoyed recently instead. I hear that's a decent icebreaker. Be specific!"

Well! The ground is sprouting giant stone fangs, shit is exploding all around you into flames or otherwise, you think a bunch of the people on the field might be kind of dead or something, Ilo and the weird little girl are the only two people still standing (and the little girl looks to be slightly on fire), you think most of the spheres are fucked, the fake lawn's totally ruined, the stadium is crumbling to bits, the clouds are oddly suggestive of hellmouths and you think ghosts are manifesting in the bleachers. Also, the rain is on fire. And kind of thick, coming down in small gobs here and there. Some people are getting thrown around for no reason. The ground is shaking violently.

Somehow you're not sure you want to be here right now, even if you have only the faintest clue what's going on. Your mind, though it feels like it's been wrung through something awful not too long ago, is also sharper than it was a few minutes ago, and the confusion your stress and anti-stress hormones seem to be causing appears to be resolving itself and landing your mind squarely in the highly stressed region.

Around you seems to be a rather large blast area, stopping just short of a very unconscious-looking Grant. The girl who was hanging on to you is still unharmed, though clearly rather disoriented. You can't say the same for some of the crowd in the former pile. You can't say the same about them at all. Oh dear. The pile's on fire in places, you think. It smells real bad. You think some of those flaming gobs landed on some of the deader members, because you can't hear screaming. Well, not outright screaming, anyway. They do appear to be trying for very close approximations of that, though.

Grabbing the girl by the shoulders steven starts shaking her gently. "Hi, wakey wakey, rapture time, fleeing recommended."

Once shes awake steven dons his mask to protect his face and runs over to the pile to check for people who stand a chance of surviving.

"Somewhat high probability i hurt Grant after all, maybe kill me later okay? Gotta check on the people i probably killed."

((Well this party escalated quickly, wonder how many triggers you just caused?))

She doesn't quite react much. She seems really out of it, actually. You wonder if she kept her eyes open a little too long.

"I… I n-never went o-or did much e-e-ever… I w-went to the library, s-surfed the web… a-and tried to get through school…" Selina now feels she is incredibly uninteresting to talk to… she never really did much of anything really, with that trip to the guys basement being the only really odd or interesting place she had ever gone to before...

How slightly?  And does it appear to be cooking her skin?

Carrie rips off her hoodie as fast as she can and, empowering her movements, attempts to use it to rapidly smother whatever flames she can.
After Carrie's prelog runs its course, if the smothering appears to have any affect at all, Carrie jumps back into her mind to assess the situation.
