Selina nods again, growing a deeper shade of red at that while trying to focus on her food to keep her from having to speak.

Kyle heads off to find... hm...
Hm... I'm sure I can find some quick way to make some cash if I look around. Or maybe someone will try to mug me and I can beat them up.

Selina nods again, growing a deeper shade of red at that while trying to focus on her food to keep her from having to speak.

She nods, grinning a little.

"Beautiful new girl at school sweeps withdrawn shy girl off her feet and breaks her out of a self-imposed shell of loneliness and isolation with some good loving?"

Kyle heads off to find... hm...
Hm... I'm sure I can find some quick way to make some cash if I look around. Or maybe someone will try to mug me and I can beat them up.

You remember the last time someone tried to mug you and you tried to beat them up. You recall it ending in implied murder, a hospital visit and lots of pain. So, you know, maybe not such a good idea.

Maybe you could edge in on the crackhead job market and offer to wash someone's car for a couple dollars? You could get some money for your efforts and later get mugged! And then you could steal your mugger's crack and then sell it to some other crackhead, then wait for a different crackhead to try and steal your increased amounts of money, beat them up and steal their crack, then sell that, and continue in that vein. There's still some flaws with that business plan, of course, like the idea that you could take on a half-crazed crackhead with nothing to lose in a fistfight or even a knife vs. fists fight, but you're sure that after a few cycles of that you will have refined the technique to a point where you'd have reasonable chances of success. Also, there's the problem that your eventual crackhead mugger might not necessarily have crack (hence the mugging attempt), but then you could just steal their shoes or pants, you guess. You can't afford to be very picky at the moment, you guess.

And if that doesn't work, there's always freelance prostitution, you suppose, though that is and always will be Plan B in any situation and really goes without saying.

"...O-one of them." She replies with a deep blush, getting quite embarrassed by this admittance.

"Oh, just deciding on what I'm going to do with the rest of my evening, since this hasn't been that entertaining thus far.  I mean, there's the guy hiding behind the corner watching us, the asshole upstairs who I'm going to ruin and that one guy who wanted to kill Dissent who I bet probably ended up in your pile over there..."  She snaps her fingers, "Oh! and the other guy up in the VIP box.  But they haven't provided the entertainment that tonight was supposed to bring.  I was kind of hoping you two were going to have some sort of stress tonight, but thus far it has gone off without a hitch."  Carrie sighs as her eyes narrow, "Is there a point to this evening or are you just screwing around for the fun of it?"

Steven stares at Carrie for a moment in disbelief then looks at Ilo and one eighty with the full expectation that they will abrubtly put her in her place.

((well this outta be good.))

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

"...O-one of them." She replies with a deep blush, getting quite embarrassed by this admittance.

"What's the beautiful new girl like in that one?" Rita asks. "I mean, uh, personality-wise?"

"Wait, you think we actually plan these things ahead with a goal in mind?" One Eighty asks.

"Clearly she does not know how we operate here at Project Ed," Ilo says in a deadpan.

"But tell you what, I'll-" One Eighty begins, then pauses with a look of sudden awareness. "I just remembered something. Here, hold this for a second," she offers you the stick, which looks a lot like a random tree branch. "I'm gonna need both hands for this. Don't drop it."

Not even attractive enough for it to be plan B. Maybe plan D. Hehe, plan D. Anyways! Time to job hunt.

"...Sm-smart... funny. Kind. An escape fr-from the shy girl's tr-tr-troubles and griefs. A-and a chance to... live a better l-life." She gives a sad sigh as she finishes saying this. Although not ALL what it was about, it was what she had dreamed of time and time again, though she hid it as much a she could.

Steven stares at Carrie for a moment in disbelief then looks at Ilo and one eighty with the full expectation that they will abrubtly put her in her place.

((well this outta be good.))

You suppose that's a way to describe what happens next.

Carrie looks askance of her for a brief moment but shrugs and carefully grabs the stick.

You grab the stick, but it stays in your hand for only a mere moment, immediately changing position, seemingly phasing right into your hand. Rather fortunately, it doesn't seem to do anything aside from lose the part of itself that overlaps with where your hand is - as you draw your hand away from the stick with a measure of reflexive fear as a tingle spreads through your arm, the stick splits in half neatly, both halves falling to the ground.

"Aw. If that had worked, that would've been the best. Oh well, heh," One Eighty laughs, and you suddenly find yourself mid-air, disoriented and horizontal, falling down to the ground, and only a rather quick twist mid-air prevents you from landing flat on the ground - instead, you find yourself on your knees and hands, and in the next instant everything goes slightly dark and you are considerably disoriented once more. Instantly you check your surroundings, and find that you seem to have been flipped once more - only this time you seem to have your arms, shoulders and head flipped into the ground, though all three rather shallowly so, while your legs are dangling up in the air. Huh. You suspect you're not quite able to breathe in this position.

Not even attractive enough for it to be plan B. Maybe plan D. Hehe, plan D. Anyways! Time to job hunt.

Plan D confirmed, then. Time to take care of plans A through C. You walk out into town, seeking employment.

This is before you realize you have zero marketable skills aside from being young and possibly willing to engage in freelance prostitution. And you suppose also being willing to stab a guy to death, but that doesn't seem like something you'd get recruited off the street for unless you get really lucky with disposable hitman recruiters. And you, being a bit of a shut-in, don't really know any wretched hives of scum and villainy to obtain criminal employment in, unlike what you suspect of at least a quarter of your classmates.

Damn, it would have been so great to still be friends with Joe the drug dealer. But no, he just had to be found naked and dead one day in an overturned bathtub.

"I see. But if that's all true, what does she see in the shy girl?" Rita asks, periodically nibbling on her sandwich in a gentler manner now.

Selina looks quite sad as she finishes this, one of her many stories she escaped to when she could, and now with powers she did not want and could not hope to fully use for anything that could save another after being broken by the torturing craz of a madmen without remorse.
