Todd, a great friend since you look better just by standing next to him. And you smell better when he walks away. And at least he isn't willing to sell you out to the cops for stabbing people, apparently. He probably will get hooked on coke at some point and end up dead in an alley. Such is life. He should really take a shower though, greasy hair isn't attractive.
"So... how have you been?"
Kyle says as he enters the building.

"W-wooing?" Selina asks, staring back in confusion. What was wooing? How did you go on a date? Why did these things keep happening to her!?

"well i certainly wasnt expecting that, feel like betting on whether he keeps pushing random keys or starts playing a tune?"

"Ten bucks says he starts a tune or pretends to start a tune!" says your companion.

Todd, a great friend since you look better just by standing next to him. And you smell better when he walks away. And at least he isn't willing to sell you out to the cops for stabbing people, apparently. He probably will get hooked on coke at some point and end up dead in an alley. Such is life. "So... how have you been?"
Kyle says as he enters the building.

"Good, good," he says as you smell something distinctly chemical cooking deeper within his place. "And you? You got shot, right?"

"W-wooing?" Selina asks, staring back in confusion. What was wooing? How did you go on a date? Why did these things keep happening to her!?

"It's a date, see. You asked me out, I said yes, so now you need to woo me. Impress me, amuse me, flatter me, engage me," she says, fluttering her eyelashes, "that kind of thing. Convince me you're the sort of person I wouldn't mind knowing in the biblical sense, to put it brutally. I mean, you are very cute and all, but you can't expect to coast along on good looks alone, can you? I'm not that shallow, I'll have you know."

Selina stares at her for a few seconds looking very confused, glancing down at the table. "Y-your nice, pretty... enjoyable company... One of the f-first friends I've e-ever had. Y-your caring... considerate... c-could easily get any b-boy you wanted... a-and choose t-to help me... f-find my family..." Selina looks up slowly and takes a deep breath.

"A-and your e-easily th-the most... m-m-most appealing g-girl i've m-m-met... i-in forever..." She knows it sounded bad, but she didn't know what to do!

"Yep. And maybe powers as well. I can only confirm that things happen and I forget them. Like, I don't remember where I live."
He will tell me what's up with the chemical smell. We're buddies after all.

Kyle thinks to himself.

She nods slowly, evidently feeling a little awkward.

"Huh. Well, I guess that's a nice start. You've certainly assured me that I'm great and all, but to be honest, I'm more curious about you. What interesting things can you tell me about yourself?"

"Yep. And maybe powers as well. I can only confirm that things happen and I forget them. Like, I don't remember where I live."

Kyle thinks to himself.

"Heh, imagine you living somewhere," he says, grinning for a moment before his face goes blank. "Wait. Wait a minute. You should live somewhere, shouldn't you?"

He quickly walks toward his kitchen, opening the door. The chemical smell intensifies. "Man, those rats will never know what hit them," he says. "Heh."

A moment passes before he remembers what he was thinking about.

"Oh, yeah. You live somewhere, huh? I'm not sure why that's weird to me."

Carrie checks the phone, and gives her powers a quick test.

"I was trying to get your attention, and judging by how angry you look, I would say that I succeeded.  The darkening sky is a nice touch.  This must be a mind-space, fun-fun." Her face remains passive, but Alex can tell that she is pleased with herself.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

Alex would smile. He would attempt to get rid of the sun and put images of Mrs. Black dying over and over and over again.

You concentrate on your surroundings a moment, but the sun refuses to leave for some reason. Perhaps it, like some sort of nascent god, also possesses the will to live? Have you been creating things with feelings, thoughts and dreams irresponsibly, mayhap? Or maybe you just can't concentrate sufficiently. Who knows?

In any case, your attempts at being Freddy Krueger also go similarly poorly, as the ground around Carrie merely forms a few bumps, little else.

((Did you miss his last post or were you waiting for me, Baldman?))

Well, he doesn't seem very angry at all, to be honest. A bit frustrated, perhaps, at the sky not darkening according to his whims, but not properly angry. The phone you took from him, meanwhile, looks to be the average mid-range cell phone, and seems to have a color display, which you find mildly fancy. Perhaps it even has polyphony capabilities? Think of the possibilities!

There appears to have been a call in progress to a certain "dog kibbel", but that seems to have been disconnected.

Meanwhile, your powers seem to still work, and confirm your earlier impression that you're definitely not in Kansas anymore.

((I always wait for both parties in a heart-to-heart to post before updating unless it takes too long for one to reply.))

"You're on." replies steven as he eagerly awaits Ilo's next move.

Ilo's next move, unsurprisingly, is to hit another key, or rather a set of three keys. This has a profoundly different effect than the previous attempt - rather than the sudden deprivation of normally expected feelings that freefall brings, this key reveals something that was not there before. It is something beyond conventional perception, an impulse that paws at your conscious mind, but does not make full contact. Nevertheless, it leaves impressions - impressions of sentience, wisdom, love, wonder, heavenly glory, connection with mysteries beyond human understanding, and more feelings that you cannot quite qualify, but that serve to intrigue you in heretofore unknown ways.

And what's more, the feeling carries within it knowledge of a source, to which you can assign a direction that just so happens to be in the center of the stadium, not that this detail is terribly meaningful to you at the moment. The revelation urges you to move toward it, and you are pleased to discover that the feeling seems to rise in intensity as you draw closer, right up until you get to the window of the VIP box, pressing your body up against the glass forcefully to increase your proximity. Out in the field, you see people just like yourself, free to move closer as they wish, which they do, some of the closer ones congregating in one spot and starting to hug the ground, and for a moment you, out of sheer envy for their fortuitous positioning, moan longingly and try to slam yourself into the glass, the urgency of your need to be where they are overriding any form of sense. The glass, fortunately, holds fast, and you are about to use your power to break through, but then the feeling stops so abruptly, you nearly fall on your ass from the surprise, something you thought couldn't actually happen until now.

Looking down at the stadium, you notice that everyone, whether police, Eddite or random schlub, appears to have organized themselves into a half-crowd, half-pile at a certain spot in the stadium - the same spot that you believed God himself was at but a moment ago. Everyone, that is, except Ilo, who's still standing where he was a moment ago, and One-Eighty, who appears to be standing a short distance away from the others, though quite a bit closer to Ilo than she was a few minutes ago.

"Holy mother of god," says your companion, sighing as he lets himself slide down the glass window of the VIP box that he was pressing up against moments ago. You notice that he's awfully normal-sized currently, though slowly growing once again, along with your surroundings.

Kyle scratches the back of his head. Hm...
Todd knows where I live. I'm sure of it.

He appears to be considering something similar, as he scratches the back of his head as well. Or maybe he's just got lice. You never know with Todd.

"It's weird, I think I remember going to where you live once, but for the life of me I can't remember where, or even when. Or... even if it was you. Maybe I'm just stupid, I dunno."

"I... wh-what do y-y-you want to know...?" Selina asks nervously, unsure what to say.

"Whatever you'd feel comfortable telling me. Fun or fascinating things, hopefully. Though keep in mind that you want to sell me on the idea that you're a person I'd enjoy getting intimate with, so, you know."

"Well im not sure id call it a tune but i gotta admit, that was on hell of a chord he struck." responds steven absently as he backs away from the window.

Selina starts at the word intimate, floundering for words for a moment before taking a deep breath and looking down.

"I...I guess... I h-have to be h-h-honest..." She gulps, knowing this would likely be her finally being honest with herself.

"I... I'm a-an extremely d-d-damaged girl who... wh-who was b-bullied in school... I've n-never had fr-friends before, n-never been social... a-and n-never gone on a d-date before... I tr-try to be k-kind a-and caring... b-but I'm shy... and afraid o-of a lot of stuff n-now... Y-you said t-to impress? I d-don't... I can't i-impress you... I r-read, and write, and r-read manga wh-while being... being in the closet I g-guess. Th-thats m-m-me..." Selina looks down at the table, ready to run out of the shop right then and there and curl up somewhere if things went bad now.
