"I have a theory as well but I'd be happy to hear yours."

"Not sure how best to put this, really, so I'll be blunt. Things that happened to you, with the eldritch stuff and whatnot, that was probably my power. Not sure if the amnesia's related, though. Could be, of course, which is what worries me," he says, scratching his head thoughtfully. "I think it affects you a little unusually because of the whole parahuman thing, but I don't really know. I barely understand it myself."

"Ugh, fine." she makes sure than no one she knows, except maybe the guy who killed her mother, is looking and empowers an enraged shoulder check as she passes the girl.

You're on the carrying path for the boxes, so someone is guaranteed to be looking your way at all times - about four people passed by, two in each direction, while you were talking with the girl, moving fast. So if you shoulder checked her, particularly in an empowered manner, then you'd have a bit of a problem, most likely.

Selina considers for only half a second before deciding against it. She wasn't ready to talk or even explain things to them at all... besides, she hadn't really had any real friends she could talk to.

"Um... I... I think I know the way h-home from here..." Selina says slowly, directing them the way home as quickly as she can keep pace with Rita. She didn't want to be noticed right now.

"Great, lead the way," Rita smiles, and together you leave for your home, a pleasant little place in the not-too-distant suburbs. You reach it without any particular difficulty, though the familiar path combined with the unsettling circumstances is more than enough to put you ill at ease.

Eventually, you do reach home - there it is, in all its humble glory, awaiting your return, looking no different than when you last saw it. Feels like that was so long ago.

"Nice place," Rita comments, looking rather cheery. "How long you've lived here?"

Steven continues to watch the proceedings around the megasphere whilst keeping an eye out for the parahuman ringleaders and occasionally takes a swig of vodka from his glass.

Parahuman ringleaders, you say? There's One-Eighty slowly approaching the center of the field, decked out in the full red jumpsuit and motorcycle helmet, looking as tall as a skyscraper. Ilo's nowhere to be seen just yet, and neither is Dissent.

Vodka's not very good, you find. But it does get you drunk, which may or may not be a good thing.

Also, looks like the Eddites are working in a pretty snappy manner, setting up a whole lot of stuff in the center of the field, mostly funspheres of wildly varying sizes and unclear functions, and also a bunch of spotlights.

"Looks like they're almost ready for whatever they're gonna do," says your companion. "Heh. Looks like it's gonna be amazing."

Carrie wanders over to Alex, "I do hope that you are here to cause a scene, because this may be the worst party I've ever been to, and the last party ended up with us in a PRT van."

"It certainly does appear promising." responds Steven as he sets down his glass and leaning forward to get a better view.

Scanning the field Steven observes the actions of one-eighty while keeping an eye out for Ilo and dissents arrival.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

"All... my life..." Selina stares at the door, shaking in fear. She didn't know what to expect, assuming the worst of everything and even taking a step back in that fear.

Carrie wanders over to Alex, "I do hope that you are here to cause a scene, because this may be the worst party I've ever been to, and the last party ended up with us in a PRT van."

He looks at you for a moment, his face completely expressionless, and for a moment you feel entirely inconsequential to all things in this universe, like a smudged, stained, illegible footnote in the pages of history.

Then he turns away from you and walks off in an unexciting direction, not making any indication that the sounds your mouth hole has made meant anything at all to him. It's almost enough to make a girl feel unappreciated.

"It certainly does appear promising." responds Steven as he sets down his glass and leaning forward to get a better view.

Scanning the field Steven observes the actions of one-eighty while keeping an eye out for Ilo and dissents arrival.

Ilo's not far behind, it seems - dude's decked out in his full colorful onion suit, slowly proceeding along the field with an entourage of groupies almost as visibly emotionally deadened as he. You'd think he'd be more pleased with himself, what with it being a big night, but nah, he just looks faintly depressed and completely apathetic to the point where it brings you down slightly to even look at him. He carries on a short conversation with One-Eighty, who appears to be using her power to set up a couple of metal poles with funspheres atop them into a vertical position, some with the funsphere pointing up, but more than a few with the funsphere pointing down, disappearing into the ground.

The Eddites with her and Ilo seem to be occupied largely with electrical work, wiring up the poles before they're set up, presumably to power the spheres, and occasionally pausing to get a few pointers on what to do by Ilo, who seems overall more coordinated in the rather spatially confusing field than pretty much everybody except for maybe One-Eighty, who appears to be moving with similar lack of trouble. You wonder if that's because Ilo just sees the world like this every waking moment. Wouldn't surprise you.

"All... my life..." Selina stares at the door, shaking in fear. She didn't know what to expect, assuming the worst of everything and even taking a step back in that fear.

Rita, unlike you, seems to be a little bit braver, as she steps over to the window and takes a look inside, then presses her ear to it.

"Huh. Is anyone even home?" she says, then turns to you. "You wouldn't happen to have, like, a spare key in a fake rock or under the welcome mat, would you?"

She looks at the rather prominent chimney of your home.

"Or maybe you know where you keep a ladder or something, so we can maybe drop in from above?"

She scratches her nose.

"Wait, does this place have an alarm?"

Kyle smiles calmly.
"Oh really? And what's your power?"

He doesn't immediately answer, tapping his finger on the car's hood.

"Well," he says when he's come to an adequate way to express himself, clearing his throat and adopting a less pleasant tone, "imagine there's a world where no light enters, a place of eternal darkness that time forgot. Sheol, where the shades of the dead and the damned live. I know that world, and you could say I'm from it in a way, and my power, such as it is, lets it come into the minds of men and women. In me is a portal to this place, and I try my best to release only little glimpses of it to the people of this world. One such glimpse, I think, latched on to you for some reason, I'm not sure why. Maybe because you're like me, though I sure hope not for your sake. Maybe what happened to you was just because I'm getting worse at keeping it to myself, though that's just as bad. It has me rattled, it does, because I'm not sure if I like where this is all going. World's coming to an end one day at a time, you know?"

Kyle thinks for a long time. A decently long time actually. Finally with a scratch of his neck he speaks.
"Actually Shoel is the place where in the original Jewish texts all souls go when they die. But I get what you mean. Anyways, I think I can understand what you mean. I'd also try using what I guess my powers are but the parking lot is amazingly clean. I mean, seriously, not even a stray paper."

"Looks like its almost ready to start." Steven comments.

Still scanning the field Steven tries to determine if theres any specific pattern to the arrangement of the poles.

Selina shakes her head slowly. "N-no hidden... key... b-b-but... y-yes... w-we have an a-alarm... m-m-maybe th-the doorbell...?" Selina gulps and looks at the button near the door, trying to calm herself down.

Rita looks at the doorbell.

"Common sense trumping wanton delinquency. Hope we don't make a habit of that, huh?"

She steps over to it and rings it once, then two more times in quick succession. No reply in the next two minutes.

"Doesn't seem like anyone's home."

She rings two more times.

"I'd say nobody's home, yeah. And that alarm business does sound very unfortunate. Hm."

Kyle thinks for a long time. A decently long time actually. Finally with a scratch of his neck he speaks.

"That's what I like about this motel. It's run rather efficiently. No mass goes to waste. What do you think your powers might be, though?"

Your eyes are drawn to a mildly creepy St. Christopher figurine on the dashboard of a nearby car.

"Looks like its almost ready to start." Steven comments.

Still scanning the field Steven tries to determine if theres any specific pattern to the arrangement of the poles.

"Really? Looks to me like they're still preparing," your companion says.

The arrangement of the poles doesn't appear to have been done with particular care, and you believe that it may very well be reasonably random and arranged by convenience, a sort of "as long as they're near the center of the field" mentality being at work. Or maybe the pattern is just too subtle for you to detect.

Given that these are funsphere fiends you're dealing with, you're guessing they just don't care.

"Sh-should we wait here...? F-f-for them?" Selina sits down shakily, trying to keep herself from having a panic attack.

"I think... I can affect objects from a distance. Presumably movement in one of the easier effects."
Kyle focuses on the figurine before trying to will it to move a foot to the left.

"That sounds kinda awkward and... I dunno, loitery. Know any good places to have lunch nearby, maybe?" Rita asks.

You look at the figurine, focusing... hmm... that is a very nice dashboard, you notice.

Yes... Yes, that is a nice dashboard. Wait, why was I looking at that again? Kyle looks around in confusion for half a second before shrugging and turning back to the other parahuman.

Selina thinks a short moment... "Um... M-maybe a-a couple blocks away...? A-a sandw-wich shop?" Selina could go for some food too.
