Seeing as that didn't work at all Kyle silently wonders why he looked at the doctor's shoes before getting up.

((Why did Kyle look at the doctor's shoes? It would have made more sense to watch the doctor.))

For one, the back of his head as he was leaving wasn't registering any reaction. Secondly, the back of his head was repulsive enough that his shoes seemed like a better choice to look at, since they're fairly shiny and possibly Italian. Thirdly, you were hoping beyond hope that maybe you secretly warp reality on a whim.

Though maybe you can warp reality and then your memory reshapes itself to accommodate that, leaving you incapable of remembering that you even changed anything at all. Wouldn't that be lucky!

Selina gives a slow nod, that calmness coming over her for the first time in a week or two atleast.

"Um... h-how long were we... i-in there? And where are we g-going now...?"

The three of you walk outside, and notice that it's still light out. You're not quite sure what this indicates.

"I dunno. A couple of hours, I think," Rita shrugs. "Give or take a few. Not like it really matters, right?"

She scratches her chin a little as she ponders the more important question.

"But you do raise a good point. Where are we going now? Any ideas?" she asks of you and Lynn.

"I think I'll go get some more drinks back at Hadrian's if you haven't got any plans," Lynn says. "His booze is way better than usual today."

"Well, if getting drunk at lunchtime's your idea of fun, can't really blame you. That leaves you and me," she turns to you. "Thoughts?"

Selina stops and stiffens as she gets a thought... Maybe... should she...

"I... m-maybe... c-c-can we go... f-f-find my family?" Selina manages only a whisper for these words, shaking visibly.

That's not lucky at all really. Then it's more like just... remembering things correctly. Which isn't much of a super power. It's like Daredevil's power kind of. Instead of a blind person who's able to see he's a amnesiac who can remember. If he actually has powers. Oh, and he's haunted by eldritch abominations at night.
My life kind of sucks.

She seems a little taken aback by the suggestion before seemingly realizing that it's probably a sensible course of action and feeling momentarily disappointed in herself.

"Okay, if you want to. They live nearby?"

Todd follows you out of the hospital, and as soon as you're out of the building and earshot of any passersby, asks you something.

"Um, this is kind of an awkward thing to ask, but you wouldn't happen to be one of them parahuman types, would you?" he asks with a slightly pained expression as he unlocks his car, presumably to take you on a magical ride.

"S-somewhere in town... I just... I don't want to go a-alone..." Selina write down the address on a piece of paper and hands it to Rita to see if she recognizes it, her hand shaking and head pointing down.

"Maybe. It's that or I do have brain damage and everything has been a coincidence."

"Well, being a parahuman is kind of like brain damage, I hear," the guy says. "Or at least there was a paper I read that said something like that. Parahuman brains are different from regular ones. I find that a little sinister, don't you?"

He sighs.

"I guess it's kind of a relief that you might be, though. Might explain a few things. I was afraid there was something worse at work."

He looks at you seriously again.

"You're not pulling my leg, right? You are actually a cape? What's your power?" he asks a little naggingly.

"S-somewhere in town... I just... I don't want to go a-alone..." Selina write down the address on a piece of paper and hands it to Rita to see if she recognizes it, her hand shaking and head pointing down.

"It's alright, I'll go with you, don't worry," she says while examining the address you give her. "Though the address doesn't look very familiar or anything. Probably not particularly close by. What school do you go to? Maybe we can go by that?"

Selina thinks for a moment, then gives her school address as well, pale and shaking. Would her parents be okay seeing her again? Would knowing she had been replaced with a clone break their hearts, or cause them to think she was just another clone? SO many things where going to go wrong!

Rita looks at the school address.

"Oh! You go to... heh, erm, yeah. I know where that is. Bit of a walk, though, so we better make tracks quickly."

And with that, you do. Rita's kind of a fast walker when she's rushing, to the point where you find that the two of you can't really carry on a conversation comfortably. Not that you necessarily have much to talk about - she asks you a few things along the way, but you don't quite hear them and you can't reply while still keeping up the pace. It's about an hour of walking to get there, and there it is! Your school! Familiar territory, sort of. Looks like school just ended, pretty much, as there's currently a bunch of people pouring on out of there, including some people you know.

Question is, are you really in the mood to meet any of your academic acquaintances?

"Why would I do that? Anyways, I have no idea but I think..."

You look around for random objects on the ground, and locate none, not even loose asphalt. Seems like they keep this parking lot pretty clean.

"I'm not sure why you would. Maybe some advanced form of sarcasm? Who knows? Anyway, I believe you," Todd says. "And I think I... maybe have an explanation for this eldritch stuff? At least a guess, you know."

"Sssooorrryyy!" Carrie whines as she picks herself up, feigning difficulty.  "Can...  can I heeelllp?"

"Eh, fuck off, kid," the girl says. "You're not even high, so can the crack whore routine and walk away. Not gonna let you fuck up more of this stuff, jeez."

As a side note, you think the guy who killed your mom is some thirty meters away. Just appeared from thin air, along with a girl some distance away.

"Ugh, fine." she makes sure than no one she knows, except maybe the guy who killed her mother, is looking and empowers an enraged shoulder check as she passes the girl.

Selina considers for only half a second before deciding against it. She wasn't ready to talk or even explain things to them at all... besides, she hadn't really had any real friends she could talk to.

"Um... I... I think I know the way h-home from here..." Selina says slowly, directing them the way home as quickly as she can keep pace with Rita. She didn't want to be noticed right now.

Steven continues to watch the proceedings around the megasphere whilst keeping an eye out for the parahuman ringleaders and occasionally takes a swig of vodka from his glass.
