Kyle continues glaring before booping the copy on the nose. That'll teach him.

You launch a treacherous sneak attack at the other Kyle, but the motherfucker's too fast, man. He's learned from the best, and stops your finger with one of his own, so on point you think he might be a ninja assassin or something.

"My dad asked me to come out here, maybe take a few pictures if anything happened so he could bring it up at the next town meeting. He wants to try and petition the Protectorate for some help with Project Ed." Jake responded, meeting the police officer's eyes. While it was true his dad would probably like any evidence of Project Ed's misdeeds, the news crews would probably be here to film it. And while his father did want to ask the Protectorate for help, he could probably find enough evidence on his own. Sure it was a lie, but Jake hoped that it would be enough to convince the cop that he had better things to do than harass a teenager.

"Oh, piss off, rubbernecker," the cop says, seemingly only enraged by your unsubtle attempts at dropping names. "Nothing's going to happen here tonight, so you can just go on home. Now get outta here! This is a police operation, and we don't need amateur reporters covering the goddamn neighborhood."

What a bitter, sad man this officer must be.

"I... I don't know wh-who... j-just that their dead... a-and... and..." Selina chokes, tears in her eyes as she tried to get control of herself again, coughing a couple times around the lump in her throat.

Rita puts her arm around you instinctively in sort of a hug.

"It's alright now, you'll be okay," she says determinedly. "You're safe here, we're all friends and good people."

"Can I go out and look for him? Something to do while I wait for my costume."

"I'm not your mother, man. You can do whatever you want as long as it doesn't conflict with standing orders," Kibbel says. "And on that note, I'm off. Here's the key to the place, don't lose it," he hands you a single small, delicate-looking key.

"Oh yeah, and such a great operation you're running too. I'm sure you'll be so effective against parahumans that can flip a building on you or summon a fucking hellstorm. After all, you were just so damn effective when Dissent attacked my house, injured my family, and killed my neighbors. Gee, I don't know how we could have gotten through it without all the police did, eating donuts, drinking coffee, and cowering like fucking infants until the storm was over. I'm sure you feel so good about yourself harassing random teens because you know that you have no fucking chance against the real threats. Fucking pathetic." Jake ranted, raising his voice as he went. Normally he would have just left, snuck around to the other side of the stadium and loitered there, but this cop's attitude and the fact that he was interrupting Jake's revenge rubbed him the wrong way. There was a whole lot of bottled up anger tied up in Jake's revenge, and he didn't really care if he directed a bit of it at this officer.

With that said, Jake turned to walk away. He planned on walking away for a block or two, then moving around to where he could watch the other side of the stadium.  He listened carefully for the officer's movements, ready to activate his power just incase the officer thought he could hit him or tase him or something. If the officer attacked him, he would have no qualms about turning around and tackling the man's legs to knock him to the ground, then maybe punching the officer's face or slamming his head into the ground until the officer blacked out. He did have a lot of anger, and beating the crap out of this officer if he attacked Jake might help release some of it, assuming he could take down a cop in a hand-to-hand fight. After that, he would try to slink away or maybe run a few blocks away and cut back to the other side of the stadium. He would try to be a bit more inconspicuous this time.

Selina glances back at Lynn in the kitchen rooting  through the mail and gives a choked cough of laughter.

"Good... mostly..." Selina says quietly, moving to almost cuddle against Rita while she cried silently for a second.

Noticing the argument between a nearby teenager and one of the police officers guarding an entrance Steven casually moves closer as if to watch but is in reality seeing if he can slip into the stadium while the officer is distracted.

Carrie used her powers to check hood guy and anyone else in that crowd.  Especially anyone that talked to him afterwards or appeared to be heading his way.  Maintain attention elsewhere as well.  Carrie wasn't going to get miss whatever is going to happen.

"I need a life."

The other Kyle seems to feel the same way.

After that, he would try to slink away or maybe run a few blocks away and cut back to the other side of the stadium. He would try to be a bit more inconspicuous this time.

The cop just smirks. As you turn away and walk off, he starts laughing for some reason. You look back at him as his laughter rises in pitch and volume. He becomes serious for a moment, then breaks into guffaws again and points at you, then waves you off as if urging you not to mind him, trying to breathe deep and stop himself, which he succeeds after a few valiant attempts. You consider flipping him off, but then recall that that's probably grounds to have you arrested, and maybe starting a scene here isn't the best idea, and instead circle around the neighborhood, looking for a better approach.

It is during this search about a block away that you observe a van, painted garishly as hell, slowly approach from the distance, cruising down one of the streets. It's barely moving, maybe doing 5 kilometers an hour, if that.

Selina glances back at Lynn in the kitchen rooting  through the mail and gives a choked cough of laughter.

"Good... mostly..." Selina says quietly, moving to almost cuddle against Rita while she cried silently for a second.

Rita also looks her way and chuckles.

"Yeah. Mostly."

She remains silent for the next few moments or so, allowing you to let it all out if you so desire.

Noticing the argument between a nearby teenager and one of the police officers guarding an entrance Steven casually moves closer as if to watch but is in reality seeing if he can slip into the stadium while the officer is distracted.

You could probably sneak past the officer laughing at the angry dude in the hoodie, but there's other people near the entrance - place is kept locked down pretty tightly.

Carrie used her powers to check hood guy and anyone else in that crowd.  Especially anyone that talked to him afterwards or appeared to be heading his way.  Maintain attention elsewhere as well.  Carrie wasn't going to get miss whatever is going to happen.

There's a suspicious guy walking closer to case the joint, as you believe it is called. It seems that the findings are not to his liking. Hoodie guy is pissed, officer seems greatly amused for some reason. There's also a few teenagers coming into range of your powers, they don't look like Eddites. Probably rubberneckers, as the officer said, eager to play into whatever plan Project Ed's got here.

go out looking for this guy after grabbing a snack.

Okay, so the guy you're looking for isn't out in the streets as far as you can tell. You can't really tell much, considering you know little about what he looks like. You have a pretty good salad at a decent bistro, though it is slightly marred by the way your tongue hurts a bit.

Jake goes to casually loiter, leaning against a wall and pulling out his phone to pretend to mess with it until the van passes him. Once the van gets a bit past him, he'll follow it at a casual pace while pretending to play a game on his phone. He keeps his attention split between his phone, the van, and the ground in front of him so he doesn't trip over anything.

Carrie decides to keep primary tabs on all involved in the altercation and the guy doing the casing.  Meanwhile she begins to actually think about this, with the police here, there is a good chance, even with no other powers in the area, of the Ed kids to get caught.  If she were doing this, the event here would most certainly be a diversionary tactic.  Something is most certainly going to happen here, but it isn't the main event for the villains.

How many police are nearby?

"Police useless against parahumans, no surprise there" Steven thinks to himself "but why the fuck is this asshole cop laughing about it?"

Considering the teens story it would seem that the teen should be more determined to get inside the stadium then he is letting on, deciding to test that theory Steven casually begins moving in the same direction as the teen and waits to see if he makes another move to enter the stadium.

"S-sorry... i-its just... hard..." Selina coughs a couple times to try and clear her throat, sniffling as she got control of her emotions a tiny bit.

Regardless of your actual motives, the people in the van - Eddites, obviously - don't seem to give you even a moment of consideration. You guess that's good, and keep up your current charade, difficult as it may be to do three things at once, even if one of them is largely automatic.

The van just keeps on going until it reaches the stadium, which makes the officers go into full alert, naturally, given that the main event seems like it's about to begin. A few officers approach closer, evaluating the van from all sides after it comes to a ponderous stop about 20 meters away from the entrance. Out step a couple of... young adults, you would say. At least they look like it, anyway. One's a young woman, rather gangly and with a shaved head, the other's a relatively tiny young man with quite the large beard. The police immediately start to shout warnings at them, but the two don't really appear to be listening, instead carrying on with inane, emotionless conversation about something you can't quite hear.

Nearby, you'd say about ten to fifteen. In total, probably a lot more. You'd peg the total number at about... uh, thirty? That's how many you've spotted thus far.

At any rate, soon a van arrives. Out steps a bearded dwarf and a tall lady, both obviously Eddites. The police waste no time in beginning to harangue them, but they don't seem to mind at all.

Inside the van you notice there's a rather large set of cardboard boxes, but your power does not allow you to delve any deeper into them.

Kyle sighs and dries off. He's going to bed. Fucking super stuffs and eldritch stuff. Assholes.

You dry off fully and decide to go to bed. After pondering for a moment whether or not to leave the nightlight on, you decide to not be a wuss and just turn it off, then lie down and take whatever comes next like a man, should anything at all come next. You'd obviously prefer it didn't, since you need your beauty sleep and all, but nevertheless you feel that you'll probably not be so lucky.

You are proven entirely correct mere minutes later, as when you start to slip into peaceful sleep you feel something cold and left press upon your left eyelid, then making a slight slurping noise as it plants a very crude kiss, creating a feeling of suction that momentarily makes you fear that your eyeball may pop out, then withdraws.

Maybe he's just crazy, you guess.

Anywho, you follow the troublemaker guy out for a block, then narrowly avoid him when he comes back along with a van containing Eddites - two Eddites, as you find out momentarily when they jump out of the van in front of the stadium, police beginning to shout at them practically immediately. It's a dwarf and an awkward lady, dressed garishly and entirely lacking in any form of passion as far as you can tell.

After a couple minutes, Selina manages to get a bit of a hold of herself.

"S-sorry... i-its just... hard..." Selina coughs a couple times to try and clear her throat, sniffling as she got control of her emotions a tiny bit.

"It's okay," Rita says, not coming off as particularly empathetic, but rather as trying to be understanding in spite of this. "I mean, you did say you went through a lot. I... can't imagine what you must have felt like when you were... you know. Didn't think that stuff like that could happen around here."

Kyle lays there stunned. What. The. Fuck. He spends the next thirty seconds debating whether seeing if whatever kissed his eye was worth the death or rape that may come from it. He decide that the answer if yes and opens his other eye.
