Kyle struggles a bit before shrugging and taking a nap. Naps are fine. And they feel better when encased in something. It'll probably fix itself during that time.
This confirms it. I have the worlds shitiest super super power. Other people get to fly and shoot lasers and hit things really hard. Not me though. Nope. I get to forget things. I am literally Alzheimers lad. With the power to... uh... forget things. Fucking perfect. I could have had something happen to turn my life around, make something of myself, finally be better at something practical than my sister. But the universe says that I have to take a penalty disguised as a blessing. Fuck you universe. I'm going to be completely fucking average and there's not a thing you can do to bring me lower. Cunt. Fucking fight me m8, I'll wrek you swear on me mum...

A nameless dread hits you just as you lay down to take a nap. You tell it to go fuck itself, and sleep comes soon thereafter.

Your dreams are filled with a vivid, strange darkness all around. It stabs into your optic nerve like a knife, feeling more real than anything you've known before. A chill travels down your brain, and it feels like your skull is about to implode, your white matter becoming an unstable vacuum. Your body shakes violently, about to split in half from the pressure and fragment. Every muscle in your body cramps up, and your body bends against your own will.

Eventually you wake up shivering, damp, cold, suffering from a terrible migraine and also quite weakened. You're not sure you could stand in this state, though that may just be initial lethargy.

Assessing the surroundings, you notice that you appear to have fallen asleep on a sidewalk. Exhaustion, possibly? You certainly feel like it, and you probably have at least three different kinds of pneumonia now, going by the same impression. You also hear a voice, and notice that a woman wearing a bonnet appears to be the source. She rushes over to you in the next few moments, looking you over.

"Kyle? What happened to you?" she asks. You think her name was Mary. You've definitely seen her before, you would say. Today, even. The memories are coming back rather quickly, though they feel oddly incomplete for some reason.

Selina just nods and goes upstairs to see if she can find something half way decent to change into and get away from the uneasy feeling she had of Lynn rifling through the mail. At the very least, she wanted a room no one was in so she could see if her... slime... stuff... actually did anything to walls or small pieces of clothing. So far, it just seemed to make things a little oily.

Though only two rooms upstairs are fit for nightly habitation in their current state (one harboring Beth and the other Tim and Lloyd), there is a third - the one with the closet that you got your current clothes from. You search some more in there, and find a rather splendid if loose dress deep in the disorganized piles. It seems to fit you much better than your current clothes, so you change into it without too many second thoughts.

Now then. You're alone in here, and you don't think anyone's going to look for you in the next half hour or so. Might be a good time to test your powers, perhaps.

Wasting no time Steven quickly runs over to the downed cop and hastily removes his gun and holster as well as his his handcuffs  swatting the officers hands away as necessary and growling to dissuade further attempts at preventing him from taking them.

Once he has his new starting gear steven grabs the officers radio and puts it in front of the officers face allowing him to groan into it for a few seconds so that medical aid is promptly dispacthef and then turns and flees.

Taking off on foot steven works his way through back streets and tries to avoid stores and security cameras whilst looking for somewhere he can safely remove his disguise without being seen or caught on camera.

You rapidly steal the officer's pistol, its holster and the handcuffs he has with him, shove a radio in his face while holding the proper button down, and after a few moments of pained sounds on the officer's part, run off into the night, eventually changing out of your disguise when you're sure nobody's looking for you or watching you. Starter gear successfully acquired!

Let them suspect all that they want.  The non-combat aspect of her powers is subtle enough that they couldn't honestly make a decent claim of anything.  Except maybe getting the ability to read minds or some other such nonsense.

Over the next week, you manage to cram the entirety of the middle school curriculum, even learning how to solve all the typical math problems entirely in your head by necessity. It takes a lot of subjective time to get used to it fully, but you manage it - all a matter of practice, time and patience. You've hardly mastered this method of study, indubitably, but you've certainly spent enough time on it to work out some rather neat mental algorithms to make all of middle school algebra, geometry and much of English a snap, while memorizing enough junk to pass with flying colors in the other stuff - the aptitude test you take shows as much, and though it is invariably a strange set of circumstances (since you weren't known to exactly be some sort of child prodigy before, mostly just weird and friendless), the school board doesn't seem to have any choice but to transfer you to high school.

You're sure you'll fit in just fine there.

Selina experiments slightly, mostly seeing how much fine control she had over this, and seeing if it actually DID anything.

Calmy making his way home steven slips the gun and handcuffs into his jackets mask pocket then folds it up and tucks it into a plastic bag fished out of a gutter.

Once home he hides the gun and handcuffs inside the frame of his washing machine then goes to the bathroom and begins hand washing his jacket in the sink to remove any smells its picked up.

Clearly running multiple missions at the same time is a terrible idea.  The epic battle to see which team can cock it up worse has escalated again.

And Larry kinda gets blueballed in all this; just left with a raging bone spear and no where to put it.

Carrie slows down a little. Not enough that it would slow her down in any way, but enough that it keeps people from being too freaked out.  At the same time she waits for her bones to heal and monitors all activity in and around the school.  In particular, she looks for opportunities for blackmail, bribery and those looking for a bit of power.  With the death of two minor gangs in Edwardston, there is almost certainly a power vacuum.

Kyle blinks a few times before speaking.
"I fell asleep... How long ago was it that we last saw each other?"

She makes a confused face.

"Er... you were asking me to tie you up, and you were about to test your powers... and now I'm here. I have no idea how," she says. "Hey, wasn't your power to black out and kill people? Did you kill anyone?"

Selina experiments slightly, mostly seeing how much fine control she had over this, and seeing if it actually DID anything.

Strangely, when you focus on your body, you don't feel your power activate in any way. The tingle's barely there, as there doesn't seem to be much of that slime left on you, at least no more than a single droplet in total, which you notice forming on your hand before you make it move over to your fingertip. You're not sure this counts as an appreciable amount of slime.

You fish out a plastic bag from a gutter and stick your stuff into it, though why you felt the need to bother at this hour is another question. You rehide them later at home, hoping nobody will be ingenious enough to suspect the washing machine of harboring dangerous stolen goods.

In any case, you make it back to the apartment and find that your jacket reacts poorly to water. You're not even sure what's happening to it - the inside fabric just starts to peel off in clumps, and adding soap only makes things worse. After a bit of time, you just stick it in your washing machine and go to sleep, figuring it'll sort itself out in due time and then pass out on your bed.

Your suspicions that high school is a wretched hive of scum and villainy are shattered when you realize that virtually nobody there is a career criminal or, in fact, anything much more than your average person. Not to mention it's a little difficult to perceive much action with your power, or words, for that matter.

With all that in mind, though, the physics teacher is a bit of a drunk, and there's a few wormy kids from what is currently your grade that are getting picked on as far as you can tell, though it's nothing all that serious, just basic alienation, no physical violence. Also, you think one of the juniors is a drug dealer, considering how a whole lot of people want to talk to him, though he certainly doesn't deal at school unless you've missed something, and you don't think you have.

Kyle blinks.
"Maybe. I do know yet. Powers are confusing. I'm starting science my theroy on my powers and it is in need of changing now."
Kyle stands up and stretches.
"But, that's something for a different time. Where are now?"
Kyle looks around quickly.

"I don't know what you just said, but it doesn't sound good."

It hurts to stand. Neighborhood looks familiar, however. Mary scratches her head as she also looks around.

"Anyway, I think I've been here before. My car's over there," she points at a particular car that hasn't aged particularly well since its likely inception in the late eighties. "I was looking for something, I think?"

"Um... oh wait, that's how we got into this situation. You were looking for me and... wait, let's ask someone. That's what I did last time."
Kyle nods to himself.

Selina stares at it curiously. Did she have a limited supply per day? Did something she eat... restock the supply?

((I've been to high school in a town like Edwardston, so I know that that's bull.  Oh well.))

Not optimal, Carrie considers her current tack for some time.  Well, since she's still moving at a faster pace than anyone had decent reason to she might as well keep it up.  Carrie doesn't skip classes, she waits for her bones to heal fully, and once that happens she attempts to get some martial arts training, preferably something simple to start.

You don't really know what to make of it - only thing you've done with this stuff thus far is throw it away, only for more to come back in some time. You don't exactly know how it works, but it does work with time.

Though you do seem to be a reasonably fast healer, it will take three weeks at the very least to get yourself in order, or so the doctor said. You're technically not even supposed to go to school right now. Nevertheless, you continue on, finding classes rather simple to digest with the vast knowledge base you possess. You also locate several karate classes in the area, plus a judo class if one is into that sort of thing.
