"Uh..." it had been so long it hadn't been important anymore. She shook her head, no.

"I'm... Selina." Selina gives a small nervous smile.

Kyle sighs and gets up to at least check through the peep hole.

Through the peephole you see a woman, sly-faced and conservatively dressed, wearing quite the large bonnet. She appears to notice as your face darkens the small sliver of light normally issuing from the door, and smiles at you as much politely as expectantly.

"Uh..." it had been so long it hadn't been important anymore. She shook her head, no.

Your memory having foiled you to an uncommon degree, as becomes clear in the several follow-up questions as to your identity, Doctor Innesby conducts a short overview of your basic neurological functions, and only seems more confused when you show no real signs of brain damage, just inexplicable memory loss in addition to physical trauma. He also asks you what the last thing you remember is, and other such things. Overall, your case is highly confusing to him, and eventually he has no choice but to wander off to figure out what to do with you.

Now you are left alone in a hospital room, alone and also rather bored. There's no TV here, or anything even vaguely similar to entertainment. Only a bunch of other somewhat hurt, embarrassed or narrowly alive individuals, though some of them could be pretty funny to watch if you were in the right mindset. The ER's rather packed, all things (including the time of day) considered.

"Um... I g-guess i'm new...?" Selina steps back so the girl can come inside.

"I'm... Selina." Selina gives a small nervous smile.

The girl passes you by as you introduce yourself, walking into the entrance corridor, looking around, then facing you again.

"Nice to meet you, uh, Selina," she says, smiling at you as well. "I'm Rita. Lynn's my sister. So I, uh, come around once in a while."

She does look like Lynn, although her face is a little kindlier, less angular. Softer features.

"Well, Selina, I'd love to talk to you some more, but I, uh, really need a shower right about now," she says without waiting for you to say anything in reply.

Selina nods as she goes to shower, walking inside the kitchen to try and rouse Lynn.

"Hey uh... your sister is here."

Curiosity piqued Kyle opens the door after a quick moment taken to make himself presentable. Can't let other see your weakness after all. That is what gets you hurt in the long run.

She examines the electrical wiring in the building with her power. She does so till she thinks she has a good grasp of the cause and effect of all the wires and switches. Once she understands that, she watches the doctors work as best as she can.

Selina nods as she goes to shower, walking inside the kitchen to try and rouse Lynn.

"Hey uh... your sister is here."

You find her quite awake, but seemingly not committed to being such - while she's leaned forward now, her eyes are still closed.

"Yeah, I figured," she says, getting a cigarette from her pocket, then lighting it up and taking a long drag. Must be a morning ritual of some kind for her.

Curiosity piqued Kyle opens the door after a quick moment taken to make himself presentable. Can't let other see your weakness after all. That is what gets you hurt in the long run.

You make yourself look as manfully mysterious as you can, and then open the door. The woman, quite happy to begin with, perks up considerably.

"Hey, Kyle!" she says. "Haven't seen you in a while. How have you been?"

She looks a little familiar, you think. You've seen her somewhere. And she knows your name, too. You're pretty sure your name isn't a popular one for people to know. And they probably didn't put your face in the newspaper for a reason as well. Several, probably, many of which you've in all likelihood spent some time dwelling upon at the mirror.

She examines the electrical wiring in the building with her power. She does so till she thinks she has a good grasp of the cause and effect of all the wires and switches. Once she understands that, she watches the doctors work as best as she can.

Being a twelve-year-old with no engineering background, you mostly just manage to figure out what all the light switches do in the next six to eight hours, subjectively probably a lot more for you - why, yes, it was very fun, why would you ask? Honestly, for you a lot of things seem a lot more interesting than they did before, whenever that may have been. And at the same time, you get to observe lots of still images of doctors and nurses doing things, though there's an obvious disconnect between them, considering you have to get back into your aching body, then out again to observe the next image - takes more focus than you've got, really. Not that watching wordless images of people doing various things is particularly helpful, either - half the time you can't make heads or tails of what these clowns are up to. Observational learning, while no doubt a powerful tool, is not that much of a help in the fields of medicine and electrical engineering.

Alex would sit down in his chair once again, relaxing.

Having found out all you need, you are fairly confident, and sit down without another word. Officer Church seems a tad perplexed.

"So, uh, was that it?"

Kyle sighs and scratches the back of his neck bashfully.
"Um... Sorry who are you? I've been... forgetful lately."

"Er, I'm Mary. Not that that'd help, I think. Remember middle school? I was the girl with the mohawk."

That hits a familiar note. She was in your class, you're pretty sure, and you do recall some of your schoolfriends used to make fun of her, which wasn't entirely unfounded, since she had passed a certain level of presentability that made it possible to properly sympathize. Plus she was kind of unpleasant, if you're not missing your mark. She looks way less like an angry chicken than she used to, though.

Kyle nods making an 'ah' noise.
"Now I remember! Um... not to be rude but what brings you here?"

Kyle nods making an 'ah' noise.
"Now I remember! Um... not to be rude but what brings you here?"

"I read that you'd been shot or something," she says, shrugging. "You never really seemed like the type who'd get shot much. I mean, Joe, he was bound to be shot sooner or later, but you? Never would have guessed. I tried calling you, but some other guy kept picking up and telling me it was probably the wrong number. Then I came over here after a few attempts, and there was that same guy in here as well. So I went back home, checked the facts, made sure you were supposed to live there, and came back, and wouldn't you know it, here you are!"

She claps her hands together excitedly.

"Mostly I just wanted to see what you were up to, and then when calling you didn't work, I got really curious. Maybe a bit carried away as well. It happens. You're not creeped out, right?"

Kyle blinks then slowly shakes his head as he breaks out into a grin.
"No, not at all. In fact, this is great! Here, why don't you come inside it'll be better to talk sitting down."
Kyle opens the door fully for Mary.

"Well, that's a relief," she says, exhaling loudly as she passes you by. The two of you sit down in your... well, room. It's a studio apartment, after all. You wonder if it smells in here - you haven't been able to tell, considering it's home. With your luck, it probably does.

"So," she says, attempting to sit on the bed before you urge her to try the chair instead, "seems like you've done alright for yourself, doesn't it?"

Kyle nods and scratches the back of his head. His eyes dart around the room despite already knowing everything there. This plan was not thought out at all. Well, might as well get to the meat of the conversation.
"I think I might have a power. A very shitty power. But still."
