Selina frowns at the very weird feeling when shes finished with making the sandwiches. She walks over to the sink and gets a scrub brush to try and get whatever it was off her hands... She also eats a sandwich first because shes hungry!

Kyle reaches down and pets each dog in turn before turning back to the man.
"I'm Kyle. I hope my dogs didn't give you trouble sir."

Carrie scans the area, "Just leave me alone.  I don't, I can't..."

There's the guy next to you, plus the building nearby and a few others - exactly three other people can you find, one is a portly woman sitting in a kitchen having a smoke and a drink, another is an old man passed out on his face on a ratty old couch, and also one little boy messing around with an apartment door, seemingly trying to break in.

"Don't cry, little girl," the man says gently. "It doesn't work. I know. I tried that shit," he adds after a pause.

Selina frowns at the very weird feeling when shes finished with making the sandwiches. She walks over to the sink and gets a scrub brush to try and get whatever it was off her hands... She also eats a sandwich first because shes hungry!

You scrub and you wash, but a certain underlying greasiness remains, though you do feel an odd tingling as you focus on your hands.

Regardless, you eat a sandwich. It is not unpalatable, and you feel proud of your impressive cooking abilities as a result.

Kyle reaches down and pets each dog in turn before turning back to the man.
"I'm Kyle. I hope my dogs didn't give you trouble sir."

"Not at all, Kyle," says Bo in a vaguely sagely manner. "They've been absolute peaches, they have."

"Pocket universe, maybe?

Officer Church scratches her chin, then takes off at a run. She makes it about fifty meters away at a quick sprint, encountering absolutely no resistance whatsoever.

"Seems like it!" she shouts back.

After eating the sandwich, Selina wonders if maybe... She walks over to the sink, sticks her hands in, and focuses on her hands again without the water on, and waits for something to happen.

Alex would close his eyes and focus. Maybe he could control the area around him, if it WAS a pocket universe.

"There's a boy trying to break into an apartment over there."  Her thoughts were disjointed in her despair, but that stuck out to her.

After eating the sandwich, Selina wonders if maybe... She walks over to the sink, sticks her hands in, and focuses on her hands again without the water on, and waits for something to happen.

As you focus on your hand, you feel a familiar ticklish sensation as something begins to move along your skin, slowly collecting on your hands in the shape of two slightly yellowish, largely transparent globules about the size of a ping pong ball.

Alex would close his eyes and focus. Maybe he could control the area around him, if it WAS a pocket universe.

You close your eyes and think real hard, as if you were some kind of psychic guy, trying to get the area around you to take on a more interesting, familiar shape. You're not sure if it's working.

"Whoa," says Officer Church while walking back, in a tone that makes you inclined to believe that it's actually working. "I hope that's you doing that!"

Wondering what the meaning of that might have been, you open your eyes again. And then you notice something intriguing - the featureless plain you find yourself in is featureless no more - the ground, flat and boring beforehand, now seems to have a fairly rough texture, like that of a welcome mat, and has become distinctly light brown. The sky has turned a darkish pink, and a bright red sun can be seen on the nearby horizon. The terrain is no longer flat, now possessing a more dune-like feel, with minor peaks and valleys all around.

"That was you doing that, ri-" Church begins to say, but is interrupted when the two of you, with a slight pop in your ears, reappear in Kibbel's clubhouse in what seems like your original orientation, which only serves to disorient you both to a great degree.

"Uh... well. That was interesting," she says after regaining her balance.

"There's a boy trying to break into an apartment over there."  Her thoughts were disjointed in her despair, but that stuck out to her.

"Huh? Is that what you're crying about?" the man asks.

"That's good... So where were they if you don't mind my asking?"

"Eh, I kinda forget. I was in a contemplative state of mind, see. I remember they did seem kinda hungry, so I fed them, you know. I know it, 'cause I seemed kinda hungry then as well. Cured both of our problems, then moved along, and they followed me. At least, I think that's how it went."

Carrie attempts to get up, "Have to stop him." if she could find a phone then that would be best.

Selina stares at the large droplets of slimy mucus. She DID control it... she could make it!? What the heck had... no... she had... she was a parahuman now? That... she had become... she was what she had hated for so long. The people who had destroyed buildings, killed thousands, and had been a focus point of one or two nightmares?

...This was... not good... But, maybe? What could the slime do? If this was all it did, harmless even, maybe she could just... find a way to live a normal life? But how could she figure out what the stuff did? ...

Slowly, she tries to focus the slime on her right hand to go down the drain, turning on the tap once it was off her hand to wash it down the sink. Then, she took a left over piece of bread and put it on top of the slime in her left hand to see what would happen.

Carrie attempts to get up, "Have to stop him." if she could find a phone then that would be best.

You... can't. You try, but you can't. It hurts all over, one of your legs doesn't seem willing to obey you after the punishment it's taken, and overall it is simply far less agonizing to remain where you are, and you feel you have little choice but to do so right now.

"You need any help, little girl?" the guy asks. "Like, an ambulance or something? You look like you're in bad shape."

The slime on your right hand is easily focused into a globule, at which point it falls off and makes a small, glossy puddle in the drain, not flowing down or anything. You turn on the tap, and notice that the water doesn't appear to do much to it, although the slight movement sets it into motion down the drain without much issue.

The stuff on your left hand, though, you have grander plans for. Namely, you fetch a piece of bread and put it on the slime. Nothing appears to happen at first, though with a bit of pressure applied you do notice that some of it appears to soak the bread, nestling within its porous form.

"... I'm starting to think that people forget things around me... And I don't know why."

"Why's a terrible question to ask, bud. Things don't happen for a reason, in my experience," Bo says, petting one of your dogs. As you look at him, you notice something a little distance behind him, in what you suppose is a living space of some kind, judging by the awning built to keep out the rain. There, you can observe a familiar object. It's large, it's black, it has a rather smudged screen, it's your TV. In all its antiquated glory it stands there, connected to a power source inside the building via a copiously long extension cable stretched to a high degree of tension, disappearing into a nearby basement.

"Think of what I could do with that..." Alex would have a small smile on his face.

"Yeah..." she agrees, looking dreamily into the distance before snapping out of it. "But seriously, can you do that again?"
