Selina nods slowly, not wanting to say anything more. She sits there with the wool cloth covering her privates while she looked down at the ground from where she was sitting. She just wanted to be okay again.

Carrie's face becomes serious and she begins to struggle, "Put. me. down."

(Still a couple seconds above the ground?)

You're still less than a second above the ground.

"Answer the question," Birdbrain says, easily holding you in place. He's got quite a grip on him.

Selina nods slowly, not wanting to say anything more. She sits there with the wool cloth covering her privates while she looked down at the ground from where she was sitting. She just wanted to be okay again.

The next minute or so passes by quietly, and then the ginger girl calls out from up top. "Hey! Found clothes! Come on up!"

Carefully arranging the woolen blanket to get yourself in a reasonable state of dress, which you suppose results in a toga, you head toward the sound of the voice, right up the stairs. Tim and Lloyd don't follow you, probably figuring you girls know what to do in that regard. It takes a bit of looking, but you find the ginger girl in one of the rooms, a disused-looking bedroom with the bed having no mattress on it (instead it's propped up against one of the walls), a pile of clothes at her feet and in a large, musty wardrobe.

"Alright, you're here. Bad news, there's only old people clothes in here," she says, pointing at the rather wide variety of rather ugly blouses, skirts and other clothing from what seems like the early nineties at the latest. "Good news, there's a lot of selection, though."

"Th-thank you..." Selina puts on the clothes that look closest to 'normal' clothing. She visibly relaxes once shes clothed and decent, but is still pretty tense looking... then she realizes something.

"...Wh-whos house is this...?" At this point, the four could be the most dangerous villians in the city and she wouldn't care as long as she was safe for a few days so she could recoup her shaky state of mind. And she wasn't going to turn them in if they were petty thieves or something. They showed her kindness, that was enough right now.

You know, the least perceptually offensive pieces of clothing here do actually make a halfway-decent ensemble, despite the fact that they are a bit too big for you, seemingly meant for a slightly portlier and taller woman. You do successfully find a belt to keep the slacks on successfully, and the completely gray sweater fits well enough despite looking like something that belongs in a secondhand store.

"This house? Uh..." the girl begins, "well, uh, it's a funny story, really. Short version is, not ours. But I think the owner's either dead or off somewhere else, 'cause nobody other than us and our friends have lived here for the past two months at least. Doesn't seem like anyone cares we're living here, too. So it's all good, right?"

Selina nods slowly. If the place was abandoned, let it be used, right?

"...C-can I... stay here f-for a day or two m-maybe...?" Selina is really nervous asking this, but doesn't feel ready to 'face the music' of what was too come.

"Yeah, it's cool if you want to," the girl shrugs. "I mean, it sounds like you've been through some shit, and you need to get yourself in order. And if you make breakfast tomorrow, you're practically in the inner circle from there on in already," she smiles at you.

Carrie briefly considers using her powers to get down, but dismisses it after considering the potential damage to Birdbrain. Carrie's pout intensifies, "Fine, but only if you put me down where no one can see us afterwards".

After Birdbrain responds accepting the terms, "My overprotective father."

Selina thanks her again before going downstairs with her. She wanted to be able to relax, and it seemed that her peers had accepted her... so to speak. At the very least she was more comfortable now that there was nothing embarrassing the boys could see again.

Racking his brain Steven tries to remember if there are any gun stores in Edwardston that he could break into.

"No, Meche, I haven't had any luck. It's like six in the morning. We were gonna start searching today; you know we don't got the money for that, and Olive wouldn't let us do it anyway; she'd be out for blood, instead."

I swallowed, the frustration of the past night mingling with the worry this call provoked, but I managed to keep from hitting something or breaking down. I had a goal, and that goal was my brothers, and nothing else.

"Is that all you called for, Auntie?"

Carrie briefly considers using her powers to get down, but dismisses it after considering the potential damage to Birdbrain. Carrie's pout intensifies, "Fine, but only if you put me down where no one can see us afterwards".

After Birdbrain responds accepting the terms, "My overprotective father."

He nods and puts you down after you tell him.

"Not so difficult, yes? Carry on," he says, turning around, then taking off at a run, jumping in the air and beginning to furiously flap his wings, gaining altitude quickly. He looks quite a bit like a bird as he does this, you notice.

Alex would walk to the receptionist. "Is officer dog Kibble in? He wanted to talk to me."

She laughs to herself in a low voice.

"That one never gets old. Yeah, he's in. I'll page him," she says, then taps out a number on her desk phone, then immediately hangs up. "Now we wait."

And you do. It doesn't take long for Kibbel to show up. He looks ecstatic.

"Oh hey, John boy! Great to see you. Up for some business, maybe?" he says, pointing at a nearby staircase.

Selina thanks her again before going downstairs with her. She wanted to be able to relax, and it seemed that her peers had accepted her... so to speak. At the very least she was more comfortable now that there was nothing embarrassing the boys could see again.

You walk downstairs along with the girl, where Tim and Lloyd seem to be sitting around, talking about nothing at all from the sound of it. As you approach, they immediately turn to look at you.

"Hey, uh, you've got clothes," Lloyd notes.

"You look pretty okay now," Tim nods appreciatively.

"Yeah, so, now that that's out of the way, let's make some official introductions, okay?" the ginger girl says.

"Beat you to it," says Tim.

"Okay. Still, I'm Beth," she says, looking at you earnestly. "And these, you probably know, are Tim and Lloyd. Lynn's off somewhere doing her thing, I think."

"Who wants dinner?" Lynn shouts from deeper inside the house.

"Nobody!" Beth shouts back. "It's four in the morning!"

"Hey, Selina, you want anything to eat?" Tim asks you.

Kyle grits his teeth and focuses harder! He refuses to be beat by a mere instrument of murder!

There's not much more to it - you stabbed the guy, he dropped, and then you forgot everything - the alley, the stabbed guy, the knife - everything except you and your friend. The two of you walked out of there, guided more by instinct than anything else, and then you found your strength leaving you. And the rest, you guess, is history.

Racking his brain Steven tries to remember if there are any gun stores in Edwardston that he could break into.

There are, you're fairly certain, though none you can name off the top of your head. Pawn shops are more Edwardstown's game, really.

"No, Meche, I haven't had any luck. It's like six in the morning. We were gonna start searching today; you know we don't got the money for that, and Olive wouldn't let us do it anyway; she'd be out for blood, instead."

"Is that all you called for, Auntie?"

"Serra, baby, that's no good. I dunno if your brothers are even in town anymore! Look, I sold my car and the stuff in it, and I got two grand, and I don't have anything else, baby! Don't you know anyone who can help?" she asks, distraught.

Heading home Steven sheds his disguise and once in the safety of his house he fixes himself a sandwich and googles all the pawn shops within the city limits then heads to bed.

The next morning he drives around town window shopping in each of them noting which stores carry guns and of what kind they are so that he may come back later and "aqcuire" one without it being registered to his name.
