My expedition leader is impregnating everybody in my fort without getting married. Is this a glitch? Is friends with benefits relationships a new mechanic?

Is there any way to fix that in the files or do we have to wait for Toady to update? My fort's being flooded by children.

It is a known issue.

It should be fixed for dwarves, but hope that depending the entity it will still stay optionaly possible. (for goblins having kids and no marriage would make sense as they seem to be not much of a traditionalist)

Well, it's like a catsplosion but with dwarves. Babbies everywhere. It's kind of impossible to play dwarf mode like this.

Yeah, waiting with playing my current fort until that comes out. I don't want to risk ending up with a corrupted save because the game might not be able to handle half siblings on the relations list in fort mode.

Aww, I was hoping this was a feature and got excited about the possible new themes. Illegitimate children growing up to be important badasses are a staple in fantasy epics. (Think Heracles of Greek myth or Martin Septim of TES.)

Should be toned down, but kept. Why can't dwarves have illegitimate children? Empty beds get lonely after all.

Problem is that they were quite literally breeding like animals, they were mixing up the civ breeding code with the animal one, with predictable babyspamming as a result.  Illegitimate children would be a really interesting feature, but it would have to take into account existing relationships, thoughts, ethics, all sorts of complicated social dynamics.
