So, looking at things, it looks that if we want to revive the king, we'll need a 9th-level cleric from somewhere and 5,450 gp.

Any ideas about how to scrounge up that kind of cash in nine days?

That was more to get the princess moving. Remember, the cost of the materials is small compared to the cost of hiring someone to actually cast a spell.

Did the math. Level 9 cleric would charge 450 gp in addition to the 5,000 gold material costs.

Now the real problem: finding a lvl. 9 cleric

I think Nerjin's going to kill us when he sees all the OOC chat in the IC thread. :P

Huh, so it is. I remembered it as a lot more expensive than it is.

----

Also, just having "The King is properly buried." seems far too... abrupt.

You'd think there would be a little more difficulty involved. Paying costs, finding a priest, etc. What did we do in the meantime? What did the princess do?

I just feel there should be a little more... between stuff.

I also think that burying the king now that we're strongly considering Raise Dead would be a bad idea.

Does Sacred Stones have a "oh god help help help I'm trapped in a coffin six feet under" expression for that guy? :P

I swear there were spells that could preserve a dead body for a year or more, to allow more time to prepare the spell to bring them back to life. Could we seek someone who can do that first, and worry about Raise Dead later?

We'll have to scrounge up the cash in nine days or else we have to pay extra for a better cleric. (The dead guy can have been dead for no less than one day per caster level.) If we can't manage within 20 we'll need to wait until we're rich enough to use Resurrection, which only requires a little bit of them at most--we could just cut his finger off or something and put it in a bag if you're willing to go that long.

You know, he doesn't seem terribly important. It could wait, I guess. We could let Princess Lily just take over until we can steal some cash reserves from whatever that country the dead monk lord guy I kept making terrible one-liners about was from and pay some kind of high priest to resurrect the king.

The salve I mentioned is totally a real thing, guys. It's called the Unguent of Timelessness, it will preserve the king's body for something like 7 years (as opposed to a few days if we get someone to cast Peaceful Repose on it), and it only costs about 150 gold. Pretty sure we can pool that much easily, and if this Warp City is as central a location as it sounds there ought to be someone nearby who has it for sale.

That still has the problem that we need 5,450 gold pieces for materials.

The seven years also wouldn't matter, because we have up to twenty days to revive him. Nine if we want the minimum price.

...where the hell did you get 5,450 gp from?
This says quite clearly that the market price is 150 gp. As in the price that someone would pay to purchase it.

Anyway, how much would a revive spell cost? Either of them. Do we have that much? Can we raise that much quickly enough?

5,450 gold is the price for Raise Dead from a ninth-level cleric, the minimum.
